Need Remote Code for Sony Blu Ray DVD Model BDP-S480

Been trying to program my AT&T Uverse remote to operate my Sony BDP-S480 Blu Ray DVD player.  Have not been able to find proper code. Used all codes listed in new and old AT&T remote guides as well as all of the codes listed on AT&Ts Uverse Help, Program Remote from my TV.  Please advise if you think you can help or have a code that worked.  Thanks

I think the first thing we need to know is do you have a silver remote or a black remote.

Then which codes have you tried?

Then I can tell addl codes (maybe) & how to do a search method.

If we cannot get the u-verse remote to work, You can get a Logitech Harmony for as little as $20.

At Radio Shack - model 200 - $20 Model 300 - $30 - Model 600 $30 If still on sale.

More models - 650, 700, etc. more features, more expensive, search for deals. Works great - no stinking codes.

Thanks for responding.  Using a Silver Remote. Have a black remote upstairs.  Tried codes from both manuals.  Tried manual search and auto search.  Can't believe the code for a new Sony Blu Ray player is not incldeded

Thanks. Aprreciate your time.  Tried 'em all.  None work.  Maybe there is some sort of protection on blu-ray player that needs to be turned off. Looked for anything like that but but did not find.   Frustrating.

YW, Since you are a glutton for punishment try the black remote with auto search -
Press DVD & enter together (not OK button)
use ff to step through codes to try to turn BR on. If you find a code you can try other buttons, but push enter to save the code. Leave time between pushes for the device to react.

Then go get a Harmony. You will love it.

Did you try 2484 and I didn't see it listed previously?

Here's an online copy of the "Operating Instructions" manual for the BDP-S480/S580/BX58 models.

You may want to double check your "Setup" settings to make sure there isn't a "No Security" setting you can switch to while entering codes. But this probably has to do with the wireless networking only the S580 and BX58 models are capable of rather than preventing codes from being entered.

If nothing else you can download the manual to your computer in case you lose/misplace the hard copy.

Unfortunately Sony eSupport (esupport.sony.com) does not offer codes for 3rd party remotes like U-verse.

I had found your post the other day and had already tried the 2484 code too. No luck. Very disappointing.  It certainly appears that Sony did this purposely.  Haven't tried Uverse support yet, but I doubt that will help.   Thanks for responding and posting the manual.

You're welcome and sorry that code didn't work. That's a 3D Blu-Ray player is it not? At first I thought it was a brand new model and maybe it is. But if they have a manual that covers 3 different models I would think it's been out for a little while.

Sometimes U-verse is slow to come up with codes for the newer models/devices. Afraid if you called technical support they may just tell you to try the same codes you've already tried. But maybe sometime when you're bored give them a call since they're open 24/7. Don't go into a chat or they will give you the exact same codes you've already tried.

Good luck and check this thread once in a while in case we find a code which may work.
