Remote control

I received a new remote today because I could no longer get my old remote to control the on/off feature simultaneously for the tv/receiver nor would the volume button work..  I programmed it on my tv and to no avail, still no luck.  I then programmed my other tv with the same new remote and it works perfectly.  Is it possible there is something on my 2002 Toshiba (regular not HD) television that is just not working?  I give up.  Thank you.

kiki s - Sounds like these are two different model numbers of TV. You have found the code for the one that works. You have not yet found the code for the 2002 Toshiba.
You have followed the help on TV?
You have tried all the codes you could find?
Do you want me to list the codes I can find?
Have you tried the search method?

I guess the IR sensor circuit on the TV could have failed. Does it work with the TV remote?

Junior -There are several codes for Toshiba and I tried every one of them and the search mode.  I can't locate my tv remote.  I don't know what IR is but it did just stop working all of a sudden so whatever that is sounds like I may need a new tv in order to be able to use the remote.  Thanks much for your help

kiki s - Here is another possibility (since you say it is an older TV. - When you turn it off by the power button on the set you cannot turn it on by the remote control.

To find the remote code - turn on the TV. Search to turn it off.

Junior - I did try to do the search with the FF button as it instructs and it never did turn off.  I think it makes sense it is something within the television since it has been working perfectly well since i subscribed to ATT in June 2010 and have had no problems.  It just up and decided not to work a few days ago; however, I do appreciate all your helpful suggestions.
