I have had Uverse for 10 months and in the past 2 weeks when you go to turn on/off the tv using the uverse remote it won't turn it on/off. Is there anything I can reset? It is a pain for the person using that tv for they are in a wheelchair and is just leaving the tv on the blue screen when going to bed instead of getting in his chair turn physically turning off the tv. For the longest time when you hit the AT&T BUTTON then the POWER button it would shut off both the unit and the tv.

Did you try changing the batteries in the remote?

So, when the TV is programed the default is to power both & the TV volume is controlled. You could try reprogramming the TV.
Or, try just the power option - Press att/ok then 977 then att then TV then enter.

I tried the 977 way....the remote will turn uverse on and off no problem just not both uverse and the tv at the same time. I am not sure if you understood the way i said it the first time. Should i try to reboot the box for that tv?

Do you have the TV remote? Does it still do the TV?
Did you try fresh Batteries as TG suggested?
Try pressing the TV button on the u-verse remote & see if it powers just the TV.
If it does, press the att button & look at the lights while pressing the power button. Do both att & TV flash?
Maybe reset the remote to factory default & reprogram the TV.
Call for a new remote.
Go to Radio Shack & get a Logitech Harmony mdel 200 or 300.

I have gotten several replacement remotes at no charge. And they all work great.

I was certainly not offered a replacement remote since i am not a NEW customer you dont get anything replaced free.

None of us are NEW customers either, except for maybe the OP.
It's a free, friendly tip that is known if you visit this forum. ![]()
RC and I have had UV since 2007, so we've had several free replacements. The remotes do fail, and AT&T is nice enough to replace them. Comcrap made us pay monthly rent!
You might contact Alex about a credit to your bill for that remote.
I gather you didn't call it in? When you call the number in my siggy below, they troubleshoot a bit, then tell you a new one is being sent out at no charge.

Just to clarify, existing customers don't pay for ANY new/replacement equipment, unless NOT sent back to ATT when exchanged or due to abuse.
If you've been charged for other equipment replacements, let Alex know about those as well.

I have to admit, the 'replacement' remote is listed for $20:
Maybe if you lose one or flush it down the toilet or something, you have to pay $20 to get a new one.

I know they have them, but if you call, they'll send a free one.
