| i3812V | 6.3.1.47-enh.tm | 0.9 |
| i3812V | 6.3.7.37-enh.tm | 99.1 |
Looks like deployment has started for all single-line installations. No deployment on iNIDs yet.
As mentioned by one of the techs here in another thread, this firmware may address some of the 2Wire's 802.11 wireless issues.

This was installed on my RG last night (I'm in Sacramento, CA). I haven't noticed any obvious changes - any release notes or knowledge of what the new firmware addresses beyond wireless issues?

Is there something we need to do to get the updates or are they pushed automatically?
If there is something we need to do, will we be notified?
We noticed all of a sudden yesterday our incoming phone calls displayed on the tv. Was this part of the update?
Thanks

No, you don't need to do anything to receive the update. The update will be automatic.
No, on screen caller ID is not part of the update. The on screen caller ID feature has existed for about 2 years.

I would also love to see release notes - just doubt if that will happen. ![]()

Good, maybe this will fix the krtlock problem with the 3800HGV-B. Thanks SJ

I keep checking but so far no change on our 3801 here east of Kansas City.

Is there anyway to force the update? Does doing a hard reset force the update?

No. If the update has not been released in your market, you cannot force the update.

I got this update 6 days ago.
Unfortunately I was outside the country at the time and the update reset my router to factory defaults.
I lost the custom password, DHCP settings, port forwarding, wireless setings, everything!
I was really concerned when I lost all conectivity to my servers, webcams etc.
I have only been a Uverse customer for 4 months, and this is the first I have experenced this.
Is it common for a software update to wipe the router config?
If so I might need to find another ISP....

No, I have had U-verse for almost 3 years. I have never seen a case were updates to the RG have reset the device to factory defaults. Your message is the first one that I have ever seen reporting that occurrence.

This update has been a bit frustrating to me. One of the things this update did was restrict some of the ip ranges you can set for your internal network. One of the ranges that is not allowed is the 10.X.X.X range which I find frustrating since this range is specifically reserved for private use only.

Just curious, I don't mean to impune your knowledge, but why do you need a class A private network? The 192.168.0.x or another of the 192 class C private networks give you 253 hosts + the router. Do you have more than that on your private network? You can have 16,000,000 (16 million) hosts with a class A network, which might be appropriate for a large multinational company's private network, but I would hazard a guess that you don't need that number.

No not insulting at all. It is a workaround due to firewall restrictions at my place of business. We have a rule set up that printing can only be done to a specific range of IPs that are in the Class A network, so if I want to be be able to print to a home printer it must lie in that specific range. Instead of changing the group policy this is how we decided to handle the issue.
I understand that there are alternatives but I am curious as to why AT&T allows us to still manually change our IP range but is restricting us to not be able to use a class range that is specifically set up for private use.

It is lame that AT&T takes away the private 10. address space. However, maybe it might be time to put your own router behind the RG and use DMZ mode.

The reason for the loss of the 10.x.x.x is due to some improvements behind the scenes that implement some additional NAT fuctions. The tradeoff was the loss of the class A block of addresses. I'm sure it was a decision made that normally would not cause issues for many customers, but of course there's always one or two who are effected by it (see Port 443 issue with wireless STB). Though the one thing I'm looking forward to is the hopefully fixing the wireless dropping issue.

Ditto here. Just got the
| 3800HGV-B | 6.3.7.50-plus.tm | 0.32 |
update in the Detroit area and it also wiped out my SSID settings. I realized I got the router update when my computers couldn't connect and I didn't see the SSID that I had selected. Then I noticed the default SSID was available, so I had to go back in and change the SSID and re-confirm the password back to what I had custom set.

I got the upgrade to 6.3.7.50-plus.tm on my 3800HGV-B and it did not do a factory reset. All the firewall settings that I had customized are still there.

SomeJoe, thanks for the update! You might want to check the percentages for the 3801-HGV. The total don't add to 100%. Firmware version 6.3.5.10 is shown as 100.

Thanks SJ. Not in any big hurry, are they?
TG, I think that's because the model numbers are subtly different. The line with the 100% has a dash in it. I don't know if that's the way that version of firmware reported the device name or why that is.

That person probably needs to have their router swapped out, since with the altered model string it will never update to the newer firmware.
Similarly, there are 2 other users, one on a 3800HGV-B and another on a 3600HGV that are running "enh" versions of the firmware. "enh" versions are supposed to be for 3801HGV and i3812V platforms only; the 3800HGV-B and 3600HGV are only supposed to be running "plus" versions. These two people need to have their router swapped out as well.
In the next version of UVRT, I might add this check to highlight if your 2Wire RG is running an incorrect firmware build for that model.

Ok, I see that now. I missed the dash! That is kind of odd.
