I just got U-Verse TV installed yesterday. I do NOT have U-Verse Internet, just TV. I've installed the U-Verse iPad app, but in order for it to function properly (change channels, etc.), it must be connected to the same WiFi network. I can't/won't change my iPad to connect to the 2wire wireless network because then I'd lose all other connected functionality on the iPad (since the 2wire isn't providing actual Internet service...)
So, my question is, can I join the 2wire to my existing network so that I can utilize the iPad app properly?
I've found many posts/instructions for adding a second wireless adapter to the 2wire, but that's not what I'm looking to do. I want to do the opposite. I hope that makes sense.
Thanks.

In order to use that feature, you must subscribe to U-verse internet.

That's unfortunate.
When I had DirecTV (until yesterday), I was able to fully use their iPad app to change channels. It makes zero sense that I would have to subscribe to U-Verse Internet just to change channels using the app. The app *does* schedule recordings. I tested it out, and it worked fine. So I see no reason why it shouldn't be able to change channels, too.
