I used to be able to log into Games For Windows Live (GFWL) and play games online. That is when I had a 2wire 1701HG. ATT comes along and says I have to switch to the 3600HGV. That's fine with me. I'm good as long as everything works like it did before. I now go to log into GFWL to play games online and I get login problems and after long talks with MS support we conclude that it has to be with my new router not supporting UPnP, which, for whatever reason, must be enabled for it to work.
Now I've done some research and am well aware that UPnP is not supported. Heck, there are even some topics on this very page discussing it. I'm also aware the UPnP apparently poses security risks but, alas, I don't really care since it was on for the 5 or so years I had the 1701 and I had no problems. I wasn't even away of UPnP's existence until this problem arose.
I have forwarded all the necessary ports needed for GFWL to work properly, enabled DMZ plus mode, turned off my (computer's) firewall & anti-virus, to no avail. Is there anything I can do to resolve this?

Forwarding all the necessary ports should have corrected the issue.
An alternative would be to acquire your own router that does have UPnP support, from somewhere like Best Buy or Staples, and configure it in the Router behind Router (RG) configuration (see post 2 in this thread ).
