Gateway?

Presently we have a 3800HGV-8 gateway installed. I've noticed that there is an 'upgrade' inuse that is a 3801 model, but not sure if its all that of an advantage.

I've also discovered that Direct TV has a gateway that can record up to 6 channels at once, while our DVR will only record 4 IFand ONLY IF one of our TV's are not in use. With each of us recording shows to watch later, that is a serious issue if we each want to watch a program while recording. NOT a fan of this limitation in the least for the price of the Uverse service.

Hope there's a new setup coming soon!

I believe your speaking about DishNetwork, not DirecTV. And even the new Dish Hopper does have it's limitations. 2 of the 6 streams can only be used for primetime, major network programs.

 Actually, it's 4 of the 6 that are reserved for the Primetime Anytime feature.  Only 2 are available for general use.

The 'Hopper' was the unit. My 'memory' has issues. LOL

Anyway, my 'point' here was to see about an improved Gateway model replacement, if possible, until something can be done about being locked out of my TV when the wife demands to tape every stupid show she can. (Hates the commercial breaks..... go figger!!!)

Of course, I still have the option to rid myself of one selfish woman...... ergo, problem solved, right? At this point, that option doesn't bode well for her, but 'paybacks' can be harsh, when its justified by arrogant idiocy!!! (Offers are being accepted....... but I'd think seriously about it first!)
