I have had AT&T for a pretty long time and for the past two weeks my connection had been dropping while on Netflix and Playstation then I noticed it was doing so every 15 minutes or so until the point of me watching my modem do it but it stopped after an hour or so then I thought nothing of it until like 5 days ago I noticed it was getting really bad dropping connection every 2 minutes so I called up AT&T they said their tools were down call tomorrow. I called Tomorrow the guy sent a Tech for the following day. The tech came at around 12 o' clock he said every thing was perfect so 2 hours go by it starts dropping connection every 3 minutes. I called AT&T again they sent out a New Modem. Two days later I got the Modem I hooked it up it was fine for about 12 minutes then the new modem started doing the same thing so, now what I'm back to square one. What do you guys think I should do? All replys will be grateful. I need a solution. I changed the cords with the brand new cords that came with the Modem; could it be the Phone Jack? I have a Motorola 2210-02 connected to a Linksys e3000.
P.S.. Connection dropped twice as I was writing this! Somebody Please Help! ![]()

I just got on here after having your same problem for the third time in the past 5 years, all with the 2210 modem. My suggestion is call into CS and tell them your problem, and get them to send out a replacement modem in the new/updated model.
As said, I've had my DSL for at least 5 years, and have always had the silver motorola 2210 modem. After about a year and a half to 2 years, mine would wear out, and would stat dropping my connection as yours has. Mine would happen when I was online on my Playstation 3 playing games. I would notice a few minor hiccups and some connection lag at first, and it would progress in aweek or 2 to the point your at.In the past, I've had to get the modem replaced 2 times, once under warranty and the second, having to pay $40 cause the warranty was out already.
2 weeks ago, I started having hiccups again in my connection. Then we had a severe storm that flickered our power off for a few seconds last week. Since then, the connection has been dropping, esepcially when I'm using more bandwidth. Today, I broke down and called 611 and got over to the DSL part of ATT Customer Service. I told the lady rep what hadbeen going on and my past troubles. She automatically told me that they have found the 2210 modems to be defective, and have totally redesigned them into a new model. She verified my info, and sent me out a free replacement of the new model ($89 value). So now I'm waiting on that, and until then, I'm trying to be easy on my current modem and nurse it through, as I have online college classes this week lol.
Hope this helps :-)
