The NVG510 Gateway has obvious issues as is indicated by all the posts regardng it's issues viewing web-pages.
Why does AT&T not push out an update? Further- why does the NVG510 have no Firmware update mechanism
installed? All routers I have used and worked with have a Firmware Update program built in...
I had UVerse installed Friday and have had many "Cannot display webpage" issues with this gateway. Once rebooted the pages come in ok for awhile. I switched to OpenDNS for my primary and secondary DNS servers but the issue remains with the gateway- it locks up at times too. I have a brand new Dell XPS and before switching to UVerse had no issues with my DSL except it was slow....

I have the same problem, they sent me a replacement one last week and it's doing the same thing, when I ran a diagnostic test on both, the IPv6 rd fails and that's on both.

Since they charged me $100 for the Gateway- I'll give them exactly 20 days to correct the issue and then will call ATT and cancel the service and send them their Gateway back and go with another ISP. This is ridiculous, and unprofessional for a company as large as AT&T to pull this kind of act on paying customers. If we the customers do not call them on their lack of action- they will get away with it. And..after I cancel the service I will contact the attorney general and BBB and file complaints. This is wrong and there is simply no reason their IT cannot get their act together and get a firmware update out and fix the problem. I work for a large IT Service corporation- and believe me when I say this- if this kind of XXXX took place at my work and was not fixed within a few days, the CEO and VP's would come down on IT and heads would roll.

At this time it is irrelevant as IPv6 has not been put into wide use yet and ATT has not implemented it until that point. ![]()

Agreed!! Just got the NVG510 router last week and getting broken web pages about half the time on my Mac 10.6.8, Firefox/Safari browser.
Thanks ATT for another sub-par service with zero accountability on the issue.

I received my $100 NVG510 Gateway yesterday to start a new ATT Uverse internet account, and I immediately experienced the same problems described here: web pages frequently fail to load across all browsers, and pages often load with missing information (missing images, missing style sheets). Sometimes resolved by refreshing multiple times, sometimes not.
I contacted ATT customer support today and was told there is a known issue with this gateway, they can't estimate when a firmware fix will be pushed, but that customers can do two things to remedy the issue: Google Public DNS which isn't a guaranteed fix, or a 3rd party router that apparently fixes the problem.
My question: if there is a known issue, why didn't ATT include revised instructions with the gateway? Why did they ship the $100 device to me in the first place when there is a known issue?? Someone in ATT thinks its a good idea to ship a defective product?
You can add me to the list of dissatisfied customers. I'll be establishing internet with one of their competitors and then canceling this ATT service. You only have one chance to make a good first impression.
