So it looks like the internet will stay up for only 12 days now all the lights went out on the router except for the power light and all the lights on the INID were green. Hopefully this time maybe it will stay up longer than 12 days seeing I had to flip the power switch on the INID. I waited about 2hrs for the internet to come back b4 I turned the INID off and then back on.

my connection seems to drop pretty randomly but seems like every 15 minutes or so for a quick second. I get disconnected from PSN, Skype, and online games on all my computers. Tech support came out yesterday and all the guy did was change the connecton going into the RG from COAX to RJ-11. said that should fix it and everything looked okay on his end. then just now i called tech support and they wanted to direct me to some pay for support service. does anyone see anything wrong with the following pictures?

My internet has been dropping a lot in the last 24 hours or so. I have uverse internet only, no tv or phone. Last night I called the main 800 # and the support person said they changed some settings, but then it happened again about an hour later and keeps happening randomly. Please take a look at my screenshots below. The only other thing that might be relevant is that my next door neighbor recently (< 1 week) had a tech out doing some work on his uverse, I'm not sure what for. Thanks in advance for any advice.

That's a lot of errors and retrains; give tech support another call and insist they send a tech to your home.
Problems don't always show up remotely.

Allen81,
If you continue to have issues with the iNID, you may need to have a senior technician out to investigate.
Please send a private message to Alex, one of our Community Managers. He can get help get this issue solved.

It looks to me like you still have some line issues. The error table doesn't look good, and there's some evidence of interference on the Bitloading graph.
Maybe Alex can send a senior tech that can look for these interference issues and eliminate them. Possible sources include:
* Power line interference, such as:
* Fluorescent light ballasts
* High-intensity gas discharge lights like mercury vapor
* Grounding problems, such as improper ground at the NID, the pedestal, etc.
* Electrical system grounding problems, such as improper ground on the RG's outlet, the breaker panel, etc.
* HAM radio broadcasts in the HF band
* AM radio transmissions, such as a nearby radio station
Try to isolate any potential source of these problems and see if you can find one that eliminates the interference.

Currently seeing multiple 30+ second connection outages, often as frequent as multiple times an hour. Some shots from earlier:

When it's working, the connection is nice. However, the frequent outages are devastating when attempting to do any sort of online task that requires a steady signal - such as gaming. Tier 1 online support was less than helpful in resolving this. ![]()

What steps were taken to address this?

Web-based tech support, conversation entailed standard tier 1 bits, the end conclusion was to get a replacement RG. The catch was that the support person couldn't do it themselves due to "the system being down" for maintenance, and that I'd need to ask another support person later on to get a replacement. After that, I searched for more on the issue, found this (and other) threads, and decided that it'd be more productive to pursue it here vs get a brand-new RG replaced and likely end up with the same problem again (as is mentioned in quite a few threads in this forum, now that I've researched it here).

The Error Table indicates some possible issues with your system. Call Technical Support at the number shown in my signature. They will run tests on your system to diagnosis the problem.

Ended up talking with a tech named Garrett, excellent service. The end state is the same - get a replacement RG - but the difference between having a full-on diagnosis vs a clipped set of text snippets from the online support is major. Hopefully this sorts it. Thanks for the help, texasguy37.

Well, what I see is that one of your lines is much better than the other. Which is very unusual.

Yes. One of your lines fades out much quicker than the other.

Let us know how it goes, and replacing the RG is not always the fix (though phone support recommends it often). If you opt for the replacement RG (self-install/exchage), and it doesn't fix things, you'll need to get a tech out to your home.

I'm new here, but have been an electronic tech for 30 years. I just got Uverse internet, and after 4 days of {word filter evasion} finally got it going. They first sent the digital to the wrong line ( I have 3 lines, but only one with a working number, the rest are dead), and traded a bad RG for another (many are refurbished).
Here's some suggestions that has help me in the past : If you can find someone with a scope, you can detect a lot of problems on the line. Unfortunately, techs that come out to your house don't use scopes, or don't know how to use them. That's the first thing I put on the POTS line and found no digital signals, Easy call. And, I could see very little interference on the line. Probably, because I tied two wires together, like having two twisted pairs. Most cabling in the house has 4 wires, and if you only have one line, you can use the extra wires to your advantage. I also checked the grounding at connection points. If you have a box outside of your house, open it up and check for corrosion, etc. Watch out for installers that have used one ground wire for 2 or 3 other lines. Disconnect any other wires that go elsewhere in your house. Use only the pair (or doubled pair in my case) that goes to your RG modem.
Ground, Ground, Ground. Make sure you have GOOD grounding

Good to hear you found the solution. Too bad you had to fix it yourself.
Welcome to the forum!

I too am having problems with seemingly random connection drops. It usually only happens for a few seconds to a a couple minutes at a time but it usually goes out again a few minutes later. It will sometimes continually drop connection for an hour or so. It seems to be completely random in when it happens. I haven't had anyone out to look at it yet but was hoping you could take a look at my screenshots and give me some pointers on which direction to take the conversation. I find its usually easier to get something fixed if you know what the problem is before hand.

I would like to get this issue resolved as quickly and easily as possible. Any information you can give would be a big help. Thanks.

I am having the same issues as everyone else. Random internet drops random lengths of time. Been increasingly getting worse. Speedtest shows huge/high pings and crappy disconnects. Cannot stream youtube or netflix without 20-30 interruptions. DIRECTLY CONNECTED.

Mine does the same, mine is the problem with the outside wiring on the telephone poles. I had a tech come to my house on Saturday to verify this. At least 6 splices to the main telephone line cable. When it rains it is worse. They are not going to rewire the street hopefully can fix the mess out there.
My BIG problem is the Motorola modem that redirects me to their diagnostic site on all my webpages. I have to constantly unplug the Modem to "cash" it out. Do a internet clean up, clearing out all browsing history, cookies, ect. Reboot the computer. And then it will do it again and again and again. Until Motorola finds a way to climb the outside poles to correct this problem the diagnostic tool is an inconvenient "virus" to my system. ATT must work on disabling this re-direction to this worthless website.
I called the Technicians they are no any help. I seriously think I need another type of modem in this situation…Any suggestions.
