I want to move my router from my living room to the bonus room so I can hardwire my PS3 to it for better connectivity. I called AT&T and they said I would have to pay 60.00 for a technician to move it!!! I don't want to pay 60.00 for a tech to move it 20 feet. Anyone know if I can do this myself? If so, what do I need to do to do this?

Then you can connect the PS3 to the STB with a cat5 cable.
Otherwise, how is your RG currently connected? Is it connected to anything else? & what do you want to connect it to in the other room?

It is currently connected to the DVR in the living room. They told me on the phone that if I moved it myself that it would not work due to "technical term" I don't know what meant. Wish I could tell you more info but that is about all they said. I just don't see why I can't just move it where ever I want to move it. I am sorry but STB also something that I do not understand either. I know how to hook it up and all but just doesn't make sense why they are telling me I can't move it myself. Do I have to move the DVR in the room with it? That is fine if so, just making sure. Paying someone 60 bucks just doesn't seem feasible to me.

Why not instead of trying to move the router (which is wired specifically for that room) and requires at least a trip charge plus any fees to get jacks ready in the room you want it in (currently about $55 per jack), run an ethernet cable from the ps3 to the router. That you can do yourself and it's the least intrusive thing. It's also easy enough to do and would not require a visit from a technician.

Well, seeing how my living room and bonus room are about 100 feet of ethernet cable from each other this would be pretty hard. I have thought about this already. What I do not understand that if my bonus room has an AT&T box already in there why would it need to be "wired specifically" to another jack? All the jacks are tied in together. I am just beginning this is just another way for AT&T to make us pay more money. I should not have to pay a technician 60 bucks to move my router 25 feet...

Depending on your setup, that might not exactly be true
There are two options from the NID to the RG, either Coax (using a Balun in the NID) or Twisted Pair (phone line)
If your RG is connected to the NID via Twisted pair, prior to your U-verse installation, all your phone lines may have been tied in together, but post install, the RG must be connected directly to the NID using a dedicated pair, without connecting to any other phone jacks (no daisy chains)
That means, if you go to move the RG to your bonus room, the phone jack in your bonus room will have to be rewired to have a direct link from the NID to your bonus room, this can be even more complicated if you have U-voice VoIP
Now if you have an all Coax setup, and your splitters and diplexer are next to each other, it should be as easy as disconnecting the cable on the splitter running to the bonus room, and swap it with the cable on the other leg of the diplexer heading towards the living room, then just swapping the Coax from the back of the RG to the back of the DVR, and the swapping the Coax from the back of the STB in the bonus room to the back of the RG (assuming you have an STB in the bonus room), then take an ethernet patch cable (preferrably the one originally connecting the DVR to the RG in the living room) and connect the STB in the bonus room to the STB
If you are not exactly sure what your setup is, even if it may look as simple as just moving the RG to the bonus room, it may be a good idea to have somebody come out and move it for you, yes it would cost you, but at least they know what they are doing and they will be sure it will work
