I am dropping U-verse TV and really don't want a 5yr old refurb modem; so, I was wondering what is the best RG to use with my DLG-4300. I think I have a 3801HGV but most likely will need to return it. If only AT&T didn't start charging me for a high speed equipment fee,,, maybe I would still be getting phone, internet, TV from them. Now, I am on a mission to reduce my bill from $180/month to $45ish/month for a land line and internet.

If you are keeping U-verse internet, you do not need to return the 3801HGV; however, you will still be charged the $6/month equipment fee. If you would like to avoid the equipment fee, you can purchase the 3600HGV, which is an internet only VDSL modem, from U-verse for $100. You must use the equipment supplied by AT&T.

Thanks, I was thinking that was how it needed to be. I had been thinking of buying a current used model RG but that might be more trouble than I would want.
