Wireless cable box losing connection but wireless internet still working

The last couple of nights while watching TV my box completely loses connection and I can't get live tv nor recorded shows. I check my main box and it's still working fine. Also I still have wireless internet so I'm not sure it's the router. Yesterday I unplugged the WAP and plugged it back in and it started working but I'd prefer to not have to do that all the time. Any Suggestions?

The wireless receiver connects to the WAP not the wireless signal coming from the RG. Thus, the wireless connection the WAP is not related to wireless connections to the RG. Try moving to the WAP closer to the the wireless receiver.

change the ethernet port th AP is plugged into. If that dont help FR the RG.

Sorry but I'm new here. I don't think the Wap needs to be moved because it was fine for 4 months.

I don't know what "FR the RG" means

FYI, When I restart the WAP the signal comes back to the wireless cable box

FR= factory reset(hold red button 20-30 sec), RG= residential gateway or modem. They have been rolling out updates and your RG might need a fresh reboot. After FR it may take and update after a few minuites and reboot itself again. FR the RG not the access point
