I have a need to be able to login in my router and get to the settings and reset pages from the WWW while I am traveling.
NOT from inside the network using http://192.168.1.254.
Sometimes the router messes up the port forwarding and needs to be reset or I just need to check the settings, while traveling.
All of my prior routers have this ability.
usually you use the ip address of the router and a port that directs it to the router with a password and you can access the router settings.
If you do not know the answer please save your breath and dont say it can not be done, I am sure that if you call support they can log into your router.
I have the

Call support and ask how they do it. I bet they won't tell you. Other than that it can't......That's right.....I'm saving my breath.

I thinks it's a backdoor in the firmware strictly for AT&T use so they can access the gateway remotely, regardless of how tightly you lock it down (or mess it up) on your side. They probably don't even get/use the same interface. Other than that there is no mechanism in place for remote user/consumer access to the gateways.
If you really want/need that kind of access, get a third party router and install it between the gateway and your network, and configure your ports from there, locally or remotely.
Whew, now I'm really out of breath. ![]()

You will have to leave a computer turned on 24/7, and use a remote service like LogMeIn to enable you to connect to that computer using a remote session. Once connected to that computer in a remote session, then you can get to http://192.168.1.254 .
