where is the real promo for the gateway?

Why doesn't ATT offer any promo for their Gateway for people that don't have ATT wirelss/directv? Since I canceled DSL, they said I have to be on U-Verse and dsl is no longer an option.

$100 for a gateway? that's pretty steep when I don't need anything other than the modem inside. I've been holding out, so i've going without internet. but it doesn't seem like any promos are coming for new customers without any strings attached.

My suggestion is to keep calling until you get a CSR who will cut you a better deal.  It is known to happen.

i've just been checking over the internet.

i spoke with a csr once and he/she said they're not authorized to give any discount, etc. they could only "waive" the activation fee.

when will att offer an actual promo, 100 rebate for new customers?

Once again, keep calling.  The best bet for "deals" is to call 1-800-288-2020 and say "Cancel."  You will be connected with retentions who normally (95% of the time) save you some serious money.
