It seems that the blackjack doesn't support the necessary Bluetooth profiles needed "Dial-Up Networking", "Generic Serial". It doesn't seem right... then again, it could be a crippled bluetooth stack thanks to Cingular. They say on their support page they require a usb cable.
Blackjack bluetooth profiles:
Service Discovery
AV Remote Control Target
Voice Gateway (2x)
OBEX Object Push
Network Access Point
A2DP
As a comparison, Mot Q's bluetooth profiles:
OBEX File Transfer
OBEX Object Push
Generic Serial
Dial-up Networking
Audio Gateway (2x)
Network Access (2x)
Until we get a modified bluetooth stack somehow (maybe it's there, but disabled) or Samsung corrects this (or not) I'm not sure if this can be used as a bluetooth modem - I'd love to be proven wrong. So far (other than the mac issue) it's been great.

I haven't had a chance to try it yet - but it looks good to me.

I followed the steps, with the exception of the modem script they suggested and replaced it with Ross Barkman's GPRS script.
http://www.taniwha.org.uk/
Specifically: http://www.taniwha.org.uk/files/WindowsMobileGSM20
I would highly suggest reading the readme included, as well as the webpage if you have the time (dense and not easy on the eyes).
I used the generic GSM script with success. It's slower than my the wireless performance on my PC, but it "works". No time to test more yet.
Hope that works for you.

I have OS 10.4.8
download Ross Barkmans Generic 3G scripts
http://www.taniwha.org.uk/files/Generic3G2004-09.
extract the .sit
move 'Generic 3G CID1' to /Library/Modem Scripts/
set the phones USB mode to modem, then connect
Open the control Panel, and choose network
choose 'SAMSUNG CDMA Technologies' in the Show menu
choose the modem tab
choose 'Generic 3G CID1' in the modem menu
choose the ppp tab
Service Provider: Cingular
Account Name: ISP@CINGULAR.COM
Password: CINGULAR1
Telephone Number: isp.cingular
I am in an EDGE network, and Firefox will sustain a 20KBytes/sec download.
Note the on a mac the phone number is NOT *99#, it is 'isp.cingular'
I hope this helps someone

I'm using the following:
Samsung BlackJack
Macbook Pro 2ghz 15"
USB tether
Your recommended settings - I'm seeing 45Kbps down (5.5KB) and 34Kbps up (4.3KB) on the EDGE network, so it's basically as I expected. Can't wait to see what it does in 3G areas :-)
Thanks again!
