Manual Scan using ATT Mcafee Internet Security Suite

Hello:
I have been using this antivirus software for quite a while. I was able to manual scan of any files by high-lighting them in Windows 7 Explorer, then right clicked and chose Scan to scan the files. Because of an error, I un-installed the software and downloaded it again. I deleted all entries related to Mcafee including the registry. After that, I installed the Suite and the process was uneventful. However, I cannot do manual scan any more. When I tried to scan a file, what I got was a Quick Scan of the C drive. I have un-installed and re-installed the Suite at least twice, but to no avail. Is there a setting I need to turn on?. I doubt it. If not, this new version is faulty. I need some insight to resolve the problem.
