AT&T, please reconsider the stupid "rate center" restriction on porting

I'm still willing to switch from Vonage to Uverse Voice anytime, but they won't port my number.

The number was ported to Vonage at my old house, then I moved to a different 'burb here in STL and when I inquired about porting it from Vonage to Uverse they say it's a different rate class/rate center and won't do it.

c'mon, get with the times. This is all "virtual" stuff anyway, port it and I will come.
