After 2 missed appointments I finally canceled a pending order for Uverse a week ago, and come home today and find no dial tone and no DSL. I call in on a cell phone and am told my home number is now disconnected, and not just disconnected but my account is Closed. Apparently my cancellation did not "port over" to the Uverse Voice cancellation list or some such bull.
Since the account is closed and not just disconnected it will be 10 days until I can get phone service re-established and then another 2 weeks until I can get DSL restored.
What would you do if you were me?
I work from home, or rather used to work from home until today......AT&T could not have boned me more completely and thoroughly even if they had been trying to.
