I also spent a day off from work for nothing on an installtion for my condo. I understand that many times it takes a tech to come out to look at the wiring but...After discussing this with my board and other neighbors I found out that there is a known issue in my complex. The Phone wires and TV Cable runs are at opposite ends of the building and there is not a way to connect the two unless additional cables are run. This has been noted since October of 2007.
Why doesn't AT&T update their databases to correctly state what addresses Uverse is available?
Why doesn't AT&T let their techs know this so they do not waste their time?
Why was marketing material put on my doorknob sayying it was available?
The day after the failed installation I got a call from an AT&T rep asking when I wanted to reschedule the installation. When I asked the rep how they corrected the wiring problem he said what wiring problem? that wasn't noted on the ticket.
I posted a notice on our condo's forum so hopefully others do not waste their time but its very frustrating...
