How do you get called ID to diplay on a TV running Uverse?

ok. Here is my situation. I have Uverse for TV. I also have two traditional ATT phone lines. (I have a fax machine. So, I was told that I need the traditional lines and not uVoice.) My traditional main line has all the bells and whistles; including Caller ID. Called ID works on my phones, but now I want it to show up on my TV (like my old Dish Network). How do I do this?

not thru uverse now i am not sure if there is a third party device u could buy or not ? never searched for one....

direct tv used the set top box and software they had as the phone line was plugged into the box allready...

if and when uverse does do this i would think it will be a voip feature only ( touted for future upgrade)

To do that, you will need to get theUverse VOIP service (UVoice). The VOIP service is interconnected with the UVerse service. Plus it is only $30 a month compared to maybe 50 or 60 you are currently paying, and you get all the bells and whistles (well for the most part) and you get unlimited local and long distance calls.

Your U-Verse tv and AT&T telephone are not connected to each other in any way. They are two totally different systems.

I suspected as much... I found what apprears to be a phone jack on the back of the Uverse master unit. I hoped it would connect the two systems together and allow Caller ID to be viewed through my TV.

those are for voip (u-voice) if it was activated...............

not gonna help u out at all as long as u keep the pots line

Caller ID doesn't show on the TV with Uverse even if you have there phone package. The only thing you can view is the call history. Its misleading maybe end of this year it will be available. I have all 3 services Internet, TV & phone. Orignally it was suppose to have the caller id on TV but they pushed it back.

Too bad. Seems like a "basic" feature to me! I guess this just goes to show that Uverse is still a prototype system.

Uverse's official sign should be "under construction". It is a work in progress just like the other service providers were when they initially launched. It took years and years of work for them to get to where they are now. Compared to the length of time Comcast, TWC, Dish, Directv have been around, your statement is 100% accurate IMHO.

If I would consider UVerse as a building being constructed in the middle of the tallest buildings (comcast, directtv, dish, twc, etc.), I would say that this building will not just rise as the tallest but the most stand-out building of them all. Why? Because even though UVerse is still considered as a prototype, new kid on the block or whatever you call it, it's still one step ahead of the competition because of it's lower pricing, exclusive features, great packages and excellent customer service (at least for me and for others). IMHO.

Agreed and i like the analogy with the building. I have only had it for a week now, and have never been more excited/happy about a television service. For it to be a prototype, boy the other guys better be getting their resumes ready, cause when this "prototype" hits full build, it's gonna be something more than just a T.V. service, but a new entertainment development all together..
