Today i was suppose to the to self install my uverse internet. I followed the instructions and wired everything in the correct manner. My power led is solid green along with the ethernet. The problem is the broadband led keeps blinking red and the service one doesnt event blink. I have no traditional phone service if that matters.(currently using ooma with my current isp)I plan on calling att tomorrow , but if anyone knows the solution just post away.

Just wondering how you connect to your "current isp".
If your "curent isp" is a DSL service you will have to call and cancel your service and possibly release your line as you can not have two different DSL services on the same line.

my current isp is clearwire which is not a dsl service. it wireless. All you have to do is hook up the modem to your router

I called tech support and they will be sending a tech tomorrow. After i called i checked the NID box outside. I opened the box and plugged my phone line and i did not get a dial tone so im hoping it is a outside problem on att's side

There will be no dial tone if you did not get telephone service.

Ok, I run into the same problem too.
(not realizing that support is 24x7) called the phone # mentioned earlier in the thread from my work waited 20 mins on the line spoke with one person then another and finally with the "expert" who after finding that I am not calling from home gave up. (total time on the phone ~ 60mins)
I asked for a technician to come over ($100 for the visit). Very disappointing experience.
(this is the 7th call - adding to a total of ~5hrs over the last 4 weeks - where all I wanted to do is move my service from my old home to my new home a few block over. I am in the new home for a week now with no internet which means not TV either (the dish network technician asked to have internet working before coming over to setup their service)
Until then my plan of action is to test any other phone plugs that have no dial tone - in case they work with the dsl modem. (I have ordered the analog phone line from AT&T as opposed to the VOIP uverse one - that may mean that uverse dsl and analog voice may not be in the line/plug ???)
Any other help/pointer will be greatly appreciated,
I will try to remember to come back here and explain what the technician finds out when they come.
odysseas
