Just heard from my brother-in-law and they are evacuating the area west of I-25 to Garden of the Gods. Manitou Springs has already been evacuated. He sent a couple of photos:
I just heard on the news that the fire is several miles away from the Air Force Academy and that they have begun evacuating homes on the outskirts but the dorms housing the cadets are not in immediate danger.

Those pictures are scary imagine being in the area and seeing the flames in real time.
I hope they rebuild the Flying W. Sure enjoy those steak dinners with the cowboy songs. Not the nasal, horrible C & W of today. Their group specialized in good old Sons of the Pioneers style of singing. Kept expecting Roy and Dale to step out onto the stage.
If any of you are interested....the major Colorado Springs TV stations are available on-line for streaming. I watched live and video taped stuff earlier on Wednesday on my laptop. WOW it was horrible to see those beautiful homes going up in balls of fire.
