Haven't noticed bicycles (got ones already), but everyone will have to jack up prices on everything to stay afloat.

And if the bottom keeps falling out it won't be long before it reaches them.

I wish I could afford a total electric car right now but I have been using my bicycle and walking more.

Everything uses energy, even electric cars, then you can't go far and have to find recharging stations; no easy solution.
I still want Mr. Fusion, use garbage to convert to pollution-free fuel, less garbage in landfills, everybody wins! ![]()

We discussed this years ago on one of the car forums, and I swear somebody said it exists, but it is very expensive and not practical at this time. We can only hope!

Good luck with that one!
Didn't they announce several charging stations in Houston last year? I wonder how long it takes to charge? And what is the price, LOL!
The distances I drive, an all-electric car would never work at this time. ![]()

It would be perfect for me no trip I take is farther than the supposedly 150 mile round trip heck I doubt I go anywhere in the last couple of years do to gas prices farther than a 50 mile round trip. I think I read it would add 40.00 a month to your elect bill which is wayyyyy cheaper than my gas bill.

I finally decided to fill up yesterday, usually just top-off; $52! Won't be doing that for a while. ![]()
Hey, maybe our electric providers would give a monthly bonus credit on home service for using electric, NOT! ![]()

Once again, Chicago has the dubious honor of having the highest gas prices in the country, on average $4.56 a gallon. I read Gas Buddy predicted the average price of a gallon of gas in Chicago in the coming months could average between $4.65 and $4.95.
Gas is a little cheaper here in the burbs at $4.45, nothing to write home about.

Dunno Spd and I was kind of looking at one of these 1,000 hp Jeep Grand Cherokees. ![]()
Actually that electric Grand Cherokee does look pretty nice. They're starting to build more of the electric charging stations around Columbus and even have one in the underground statehouse parking garage. But I really wonder how many politicians drive electric cars?

The politicians have there own set of rules the ones they impose on us and the ones they feel like obeying after all some get a life time check and the best medical coverage there is.

Well there is one up close to where I live(charging station at the Walgreens at Hotzworth and I-45 in Spring). I haven't look at the price of electric charging since I only have gas powered yaris(well it's my friends) and a 2003 GMC Sierra. I don't drive my truck as much as my friends yaris. I think you might want to look into getting a new Prius V.

From what I have read do to varying electric rates but the Nissan Leaf costs anywhere from 3.30 to 6.00 dollars for a 100 mile charge. The Tesla (car) can do 130mph and go 200mi on a charge impressive.

Now you know those prices will go WAY UP if more people were using those stations. ![]()
I didn't make it to the $3.69 station, so no telling how high it is by today (GasBuddy is a liar here).

Unless someone has a long commute they should get an electric car if the price per mile works out well. Then when the go on a trip rent something with gas. That is what my landlords in Miami did in the mid 90s. Not electric but a small pickup and a van. When they went on a trip they rented a Lincoln.

They're going to have to come way down in price first! Maybe the govt. will help us out, free electric cars for all!
But they can't afford to lose those huge oil taxes!

Believe the hybrids will by more pushed, rather than all electric, just so the oil companies/gov't cohorts will have some control over what you drive. Just like the EPA skewing the mpg testing so many of the hybrids get a lot less mpg than as advertised (eg. Honda Civic Hybrid rated at 50mpg when actually closer to 30mpg). Still seeing lots of TV ads for the Toyota Prius getting 50mpg and who knows if this is true? But the Prius is one of the top rated mpg hybrids.
All gas stations holding steady at $3.99 here. Figures the price of oil, which has dropped, doesn't seem to have anything to do with the outrageous prices they charge at the pump. ![]()

Well my point about gas mileage is to produce an open-source solution. I've been working on that in my head but don't have the funds to do the work on it.

I can't belive how gas prices have jumped. They got down to $3.26 then jumped to $3.48 in one day. Then a few days later jumped up to $3.57.

Know what you mean SKP and the increases are even worse here. I filled up last Mon morning for $3.39/gal and later that afternoon they were $3.69. Then Thurs the stations jacked them up again to $3.89. Fifty-cents per gal increase in 3 days is some extreme price gouging! ![]()

And there is no reason other than greed. We'd actually gotten down below $3.00 in the DFW Metroplex and now I'm seeing $3.49-$3.79 prices. Rediculous.
