I really hate the large station logos and banner advertising for shows that are coming when I turn to a channel to watch a program and these are present its more than distracting its irratating and more noticeable on larger screens.
Just wandered how many posters this has annoyed not to mention clients with projectors with enormous screens where these logos can be a foot in diameter.

It can be a real pain.
It really annoys me when they cover up important info such as people's names and other info that the show wants to give us.

Yup, those things are enough to [word filter avoidance] the pope. What's really annoying is when they cover the bottom third of the screen with some stupid ad for another program. Keep the blasted ads confined to the commercial breaks. There should be a law, oh wait there is, the broadcasters paid good money for it. ![]()

This is really embarrasing and I feel quite dumb but while watching America's Got Talent, the network (NBC) kept popping up banner type ads for the Olympic coverage. I thought that the show was implying that an act was from London and the show was taped last July 27th. D'oh! It took me 2-3 times to get it.
On another note, the network's actually make money, internally and externally off of these popo upos and ad / logos. If a new show is coming on, thew network charges another department or the production company. With all of this self promotion - this trend isn't stopping.

Yeah Oz those logos/commercials at the bottom look terrible in my 60" set. Heck our local news has a real big logo which even covers up the current temp when they do the daily/weather report. How stupid is that! And then there's networks like TNT which have characters from upcoming show running across the bottom of the screen during a program. Those are about the most obnoxious ads I've seen and talk about distracting. Wish they made Ad-Block Plus for TV sets. ![]()

Yep I have TNT blocked from my favorites list just for that reason one of the most annoying things in years, at this rate I may return to OTA permanately or at least downsize to U-100 ,if I got to pay for the service the adds need to at least shrink or go away.

I remember when the cable networks began running those banner ads and I thought, glad the big 3 aren't doing this. Now I guess all of the networks sees this and are implementing that practice more and more. I hope the premium channels don't start doing this. Or are they already?

I call it the ADD news, and y'all already know what I think about commercials/ads of any kind!
The logo crap started back when VCRs were around, IIRC; wouldn't want someone taping a movie and selling it, but like that would stop a bootlegger and those who buy from them.
