Agree, there is still a want for this, finding a way to do it with the greedy channel owners will be another matter.
You can also use the Hide Channels feature and that gets rid of all the ones you don't watch. I think I have more hidden than ones I watch, come to think of it! 
Once your promo is up, call back in and negotiate a new deal. Some people here do that and can give you advice.
