I'll let the story stand on its own.

It had to happen sooner or later.

List of channels on AMC 11 that could get interfered with: LyngSat-AMC11.
I don't know if this could affect AT&T U-Verse or not, I don't know if AT&T gets their feeds for these channels from this satellite.

Wow! That's a lot of services. Well....perhaps they will get lucky and interruptions will be minimal. When I first saw the story I had visions of a head-on collision but I guess that is not the case.....just close enough to cause interference.
27 years ago we had a 12 ft. satellite dish in our backyard....with a Drake receiver and stereo sound capability. I felt a bit like a pioneer. I watched the first space shuttle disaster live on the old NASA channel......and we used to be able to watch major sports events with full stereo sound crowd noise....MINUS the play-by-play announcers. We did not have cable service available to us at the time so having all those satellite channels via C-band available to us was just amazing. C-band is low enough in frequency that moisture absorption was not a factor to contend with so stormy weather was no problem for reception. THEN came the scrambling war and the end was predictable. By the way that Drake receiver had an RF remote that was powerful enough to function from anywhere in the house with no problems. No DVR however. Just good old VCR.

I remember those old satelitte dishes. My grandparents had one. I remember watching an OU/Nebraska game many years ago on ABC, we had the play by play announcers, no commercials though. It was funny hearing Kieth Jackson talking during the breaks. He really didn't like Barry Switzer at the time and his comments "off air" could have gotten him fired if they were ever broadcast on air.

Boy...you know how to hurt a guy. But that's ok. I've got three sons, 9 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.

Hey Phil, does it count if you married into a ready made family?

Hi-ya Pip. Hey! That works. Anyway you can accomplish it is OK. We won't see any more grandchildren as our youngest son turns 50 in September. But we expect a bunch more great grandchildren from those nine.

There was a guy at our church that had 24 kids. The oldest one had died before the last was born. Someone presented him the youngest at a family gathering and the Dad asked who the baby belonged too. What is one more kid after the first 10.
