Good morning and good Friday to all.
Been raining awhile now, might change over to freezing rain.
Gonna play it safe (and smart) and just stay home tomorrow night. Getting to old for hangovers anyway. ![]()

I've read the confiscated items don't ever leave the premises either.

Speaking of flying, in a previous trucking job, I did alot of flying. After 9/11 if I made the reservation using Chris, everything was OK.
But if the company made the reservation using Christopher, I knew what was coming when I checked in at the airport.
When I give my ID, they look me up on the computer, then say "excuse me, I'll be right back" and go into the back room. Found this out the first time from another Spirit checkin person (she wan't suppossed to tell me though), that name is on the No-Fly watch list.
When they came back everything was OK, it was a different person that's on the No-Fly list.

Now the money is kept by the TSA but there is a bill in Congress to give the money to the USO lounges in the airports. Sounds like a good idea to me. If you think so contact your Rep.

I made my own beef jerky today. I've had a dehydrator for a while now and have only been using it to make dog treats but decided to make some treats for myself this time. They came out a little too dry but overall I like it and it's cheaper than buying it in store.

Houston native repairs typewriters! Cool to know some people still know how to fix things. I've got an old portable that I can't find ribbons for, but according to the article, it's use it or lose it.

Man tries to use a $1,000,000 bill at Walmart ![]()
LEXINGTON, N.C. — Do you have change for a million-dollar bill?
Police say a North Carolina man insisted his million-dollar note was real when he was buying $476 worth of items at a Walmart.
Investigators told the Winston-Salem Journal that 53-year-old Michael Fuller tried to buy a vacuum cleaner, a microwave oven and other items. Store employees called police after his insistence that the bill was legit, and Fuller was arrested.
The largest bill in circulation is $100. The government stopped making bills of up to $10,000 in 1969.
Fuller was charged with attempting to obtain property by false pretense and uttering a forged instrument. He is in jail on a $17,500 bond, and it isn't clear if he has an attorney. He is scheduled to be in court Tuesday.

I'm not even going to look at Houston's stats.
GET IN SHAPE IN 2012 Without Leaving Home!
Begin by standing on a comfortable surface, where you have plenty of room at each side.
With a 5-lb. potato bag in each hand, extend your arms straight out from your sides and hold them there as long as you can. Try to reach a full minute, and then relax.
Each day you'll find that you can hold this position for just a bit longer. After a couple of weeks, move up to 10-lb. potato bags.
Then try 50-lb. potato bags and then eventually try to get to where you can lift a 100-lb. potato bag in each hand and hold your arms straight for more than a full minute. (I'm at this level!)
(open the Spoiler)
After you feel confident at that level, put a potato in each bag.

Well....here in the Kansas City area .....we have murders....boy do we have murders. Don't remember the exact number but I know I saw a story in the paper the other day that murders in 2011 were considerably higher than 2010.
Hey....folks....pretty sight in the sky tonight if you are cloud free. The moon and the planet Jupiter are only about 4 or 5 degrees apart. Pretty sight to see. I know the other day there was the moon, venus and jupiter all shining brightly at the same time about an hour after sunset.
Thought my Internet was sluggish a few minutes ago so ran the AT&T speed test and the speed was down to just under 6 mbps...AGAIN. Checked again after about 5 min. and it was back up to 15+ mbps. Can't really see any advantage in performance with the new RG.

Houston's murder rate was supposedly the lowest ever, last year.
I'll take a look at the sky as I've got to bring the wreaths and bows in from outside...plus the hanging baskets.

The fact that it's not a felony until you've been caught four times is totally ridiculous. They should be doing six months jail and one year suspension minimum on the second offense (regardless of how much money they have for lawyers).

Drunk Drivers: Do y'all ever watch the Alaska Highway Patrol TV series? They had a guy that was stopped, drunk, with no license. It was then determined that his license was revoked and he would not be able to get it back until 2057! Wow! There was a guy here, locally, about 20 years ago that was drunk, crashed and killed a family (IIRC) . He had 67 prior DUI's! Wow, again. i do believe that courts are a bit more serious, now about drinking and driving (but then you had the Indy Police officer, last year, who was drunk and on duty, who crashed into 4 motorcyclists, killing one, who has never (and probably never will) serve any time).
Typewritter repairmen: 2 Years ago, a local TV station reported on Indiana's last IBM Selectric typewriter repairman. He said that parts were getting hard to find.

Congrats
No to Hallmark
Yes to NHL though I'm not crying over it's loss. Stars are shown locally enough for me to watch.
