You might have to write an article in the local paper and inform everyone what it is and how it works.Send us a copy!

Yep. Every home and business in the city will...Unless of course the owner(s) opted out which doesn't make sense to me since it doesn't cost the owner anything for them to install the ONT and get fiber up to it at this point. If they should decide they want it down the road, they will have to pay for them to come out and do it, labor, materials, etc.Message Edited by Koolkid1935 on 07-30-2008 01:49 PM

TCTWest will be providing triple play service exclusively for the first 6 years to get the network started, then anyone can join in and offer services over it.
Spd, I think that is one of, if not the biggest problem right now. People have no idea what it even is, how much it will be, or what benefit it has over their existing service(s). I just happen to know the pricing because I went into the TCT and Powellink offices and asked them. They were happy to answer the many questions that I had, and I was surprised that they actually had answers for most of them
Just the other day I saw a sign in protest in a store window that read "When you go to the fair, take your wireless [cell?] phone which is not outdated like fiber" (or something to that effect).

The camera makes it look like a bad, dark thunderstorm, but it is actually more of a yellow-orange color outside!

Yikes! That's a nice view when clear. But I bet that smog-ish thing isn't good your your health.
On a different topic, The FSF is now urging people to overload Apple Genius Bars to try to get the restrictions on the iPhone reduced.

For now, yes. Once school starts up again, I will be more busy. It is starting to clear up to the North, but back to the South it seems to be getting worse. I managed to take a cool picture (IMO) of the sun though...

Pip, I found a playmate for your Pip; you've probably already seen him on TV (I keep forgetting to post). This guy weighs twice as much (44 lbs.!) as our Clovis (at 23, uh, make that 20 after his dieting).
Another victim of forclosure. ![]()

I've mentioned him before...or maybe it was on UU. Another sad case, 8 wks. old at our doorstep; thinks son is his littermate according to vet. The boy has him trained to do all sorts of stuff. At about 6 mos. we nearly lost him to a severe URI, 3 different anti-b's didn't work, 2 vets, off to Gulf Coast Specialists...they put him on Interferon, orally, and it finally brought him around.
He wouldn't eat, so we found he loved Whataburger chicken strips; every night, drive-thru for just 1 for kitty. That's not how he got fat, it was eating Jill's kitten chow for a year! But he is big and looks more like a wildcat. Yeah, it's a zoo around here. ![]()

Our paper had an article about this cat in today's paper. Remember me? I'm the one who doesn't watch the news if I can help it. ![]()
Pip must weigh in now at over 30 pounds. I gave up trying to lift her ages ago. If I need her to move I just kind of roll her to where she should be. ![]()
She no longer runs (hasn't for some time now) but she can move pretty fast when she needs too. She waddles very fast! ![]()
Hope that Prince Chunk/Powder can find a good home.

I forget, but does Pip have a thyroid problem, too? And as you know, if cats aren't carefully monitored on special diets, they can actually GAIN more weight (hmm...just like people, LOL!).
With Clo losing 2 lbs., vet said it is like 20 people lbs.; so he was 40 lbs. overweight in people lbs., LOL! We actually had to give him a bath last week because he still has trouble grooming *some* areas.
He was not happy, and looked totally humiliated!!
