Hi All,
On Monday at 8:30pm GMT time I watched this rather disturbing BBC Documentary
its been on my mind thus all week and I couldn't believe what I watched
it really made me sick that families in America are are suffering like this
there kids are going without food and there mother(s) sometimes catches rats to eat
another thing is why are people living in tents?
theres people who have become out of work due to losing there job(s)
being told they cannot get Unemployment pay? also cannot afford to seek medical
even though they have serious illness and could end up dead !
this program really has got me feeling quite sick!!!!
I have added the link im hoping some of you can watch
it its also available on the bbc iPlayer but i don't think its accessable outside the UK?

It seems the US should start taking care of it's own, first but instead helps whatever country needs it while they cut back on help for our own citizens.

Well im glad its Publically broadcasted over there and it being well known!
that doesn't happen here Ok with the present increase of prices some famillies cannot afford
stuff and go to food banks like that in that documentary!
But if Kids had to go without food then the Social Services would all over that like a tonne of bricks
as for medical treatment we don't pay here when out of work we have NHS and can get treatment like dental
free etc and just walk into a hospital without paying ![]()
when someone who is in work though you have to pay for Dental care check-ups treatment !
in that video I didn't understand why the Guy wasn't entitled to Out of work pay?
here again you can claim out of work benefit normally JSA !
I think the USA needs to adopt some of our methods overthere and stop wasting there money lol
they said its the richest country? im actually laughing yeah right!
The prime minister here keeps copying some of the methods of the USA
but if he went and got rid of the mentioned above I reckon WW3 would start
it seriousley isn't right I feel so sorry for those people in that video I hope they get help seriousley ![]()

Here, there are volunteer clinics that the WORKING poor can go to for free dental and medical treatment but they are not for someone who doesn't work.
There are government run healthcare programs for unemployed people but it takes FOREVER to be accepted once you apply.

Ouch sounds pretty bad if you have just lost your income then if your in the USA
I thought we had it bad here till I watched that monday night on TV its been on my mind half of the week !
I remember sometime ago the US were looking at a NHS system but then many people were so against this?
I think they need to adopt this regardless of what the community think !
I don't know all the gritty ways on how Employment benefit works but if your a UK resident
you can claim upto £126 a week on JSA and you need to be fully looking for work
you can also get Rent paid and Housing tax depending on the sort of home you live in!
it is pretty tough to live here though we have things here we have to pay for unlike the USA
TV Licence its costs £150.50 a year all proceedings go to the bbc
then theres VAT its on everything, constant rise of prices but thats the same everywhere now !

BBC has amazing and very objective documentaries. Time to open our eyes, the United States is unfortunately not what it used to be a decade ago...
Yet we will survive through this crisis too, I strongly believe; we always have.
