Yep they decided against THAT real quick...enough customers complianed about it, I guess. That was ridiculous anyway..why should they care how people pay, as long as they get their money.

From what I understood, their intent was to PUSH people to Auto Pay...hmm...that sounds like another company I know of. ![]()
Fees for online payments are nothing new, they've been doing that for years down here with driver's license renewals, property tax payments--guess it doesn't bother people enough to complain, or the fact that it's not done every month.
I have to laugh as it's called a Convenience Fee! They should give a discount to customers who pay online because it saves time, paper, manual accounting, credit card surcharges...wait, that's too LOGICAL! ![]()

The reason the government charges an online fee is because most people use a credit card that charges a fee. If it is a virual check with no fee then they should not charge a fee. If you can put your bank and account routing # in just as if mailing a check there should be no fee. If they are charging to do that that is wrong.

The electronic check payment (which is what I think of when using your bank routing information and account number) was to always have the fee waived. It seems VZW has changed their minds if I am reading the press release from VZW's website correctly and have added additional forms of payment to the list of fee waived options.

I think SKP was talking about my comment regarding our govt. charging a Convenience Fee for paying taxes online or renewals for licenses/registrations?
Yeah, V has killed the fee period from what I read. I didn't like the fact they were trying to force people into Auto Pay by doing that.
Just too many fees for people going green/paperless, IMO. Now that we can do automatic accounting and have eliminated jobs, companies have come up with a way to make even more money. My CU recently started charging $25 to RECEIVE a wire transfer from cash. I already have to pay to initiate it. Just never ends with these fees. ![]()

The $2 charge was nothing compared to what ATT is planning starting tomorrow....they're going to charge $36 to upgrade instead of $18!! They are DOUBLING the cost...which it TOTALLY RIDICULOUS, IMO!! They're going to LOSE customers!! I like the way that they INFORM their customers, too...SURPRISE, SURPRISE!! ![]()
