Better search capabilities?

I'm disappointed with the search feature on the UVerse DVR. On my previous DVR (not sure if I can named the service or brand), the search functionality had two category choices before the word-based search. In other words, Icould choose Movies / Children before I search for PIRATE or Reality / Cooking before I search for CHEF. Even more, on the UVerse DVR I can't do ANY kind of category-only search.

Im really disappointed by this, as it really hampers my ability to sift through the 300+ channels. Any suggestions? Or any way this can be incorporated into the service?

If you want to search by categories, use the Web Remote Access.

I for one actually think that is totally backwards - why woulld the web remote offer more features / be more reboust than the search functions on the STB? That is like some VCR's that I had, some functions had to be done on the remote and some on the hardware.

Right. STB functionality must be paramount. Any other interface is window deassing. The search function stinks on ice
