DISH Network says you can record 6 shows at once. Will Uverse compete?
Dish Network announced Monday at CES in Las Vegas a new digital video recording system that can record six TV shows simultaneously in high definition.
The new DVR, called Hopper, has a two terabyte hard drive and includes a feature that allows you to automatically record eight days of prime time programming from ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox.
The 2TB gives Hopper the ability to store up to 2000 hours of video.

With Dish's Hopper, recording 6 programs at once only works during the prime time hours. 4 of the 6 programs are from the broadcast networks (ABC, CBS, Fox and NBC). The other 2 can be from any other channel. During non-prime time hours, you are limited to recording 3 programs at the same time.
U-verse allows 4 programs to be recorded at all times from any channels. Also, U-verse has ABC, Fox, NBC and CBS (in O&O markets) On Demand. This allows you to watch most of the prime time programs without the need to record them on your DVR.
Decide which one is best for you. I still think that U-verse competes very well with what Dish offers.

That's a bit complicated!

LOL. You can elect not to enable the feature to record all of the prime time programs on the 4 major networks and just have the ability to record 3 different channels at all times.

No more complicated that attempting to explain U-Verse's stream limits.

I already have Uverse. Just wondering if there was an upgrade to more recordings in the works. I'm pretty happy with it most of the time.
