Twice now, my DVR has seized up - all three lights would come on, it wouldn't accept commands from the remote, wouldn't do a soft boot and pretty turned turned into a paperweight until a hard boot. It would reboot and be fine.
Does this mean the DVR is about to die or might it be a software issue meaning that other people on this board must have experienced it.

No issues here with my DVR. Which DVR do you have, and how long have you had it?

It is a VIP 1225 and I've had it for about a year.
The problem occurred three more times today. All three times, I was scrolling through the list of recorded programs. It did not fail while watching either live or recorded TV, just scrolling through the list.

Did the button "Exit to Live TV" on the remote, have any affect? In the past, if the remote became unresponsive, pressing that button made it work again. However, I have not had to do that in a few weeks, so that may be fixed, now. Keep us posted.
