...not the first time I've seen this error since Phase 3, but tonight we had something really strange with too many streams being used.
This error popped up when I tried to set an HD recording of a show that was being watched live in another room. It did allow me to set the recording with the red dot, but showed WILL RECORD. I've seen that happen before Phase 3. So, I went on to try setting a recording for the SD version, and same thing, red dot...WILL RECORD (but no DVR is Working message).
Here is what was going on:
- DVR on live HD channel
- STB #1 on live HD channel
- STB #2 on live HD channel
- STB #3 on, but not watching a program (TV off)
- DVR recording 3 HD channels
- DVR recording 1 SD channel
I did not get the message that a TV needed to be interrupted (too many streams) when I set 2 recordings (same channel, HD & SD versions) while 2 HD channels were already recording.
The STB I was watching (a recording) suddenly popped up with the DVR IS UNAVAILABLE, 3 TVs and boxes were ON with green link lights lit. No programs being recorded.
I went to look at the DVR, and it was stuck on the BSoD screen. Changing channels did not work to bring it back (usually does), and it would not shut off without a Restart (neither with button or remote).
I see it is showing no info on the DVR Space Analysis, so apparently everything did lose total sync.
Took a look at the RG, and all lights were flashing green, including USB (turned off), and Phone 1 & 2 (no VoIP). No red lights at Broadband or Service like the usual crash/restart.
Here's what UVRT showed:
UVRT closed itself after this (Windows Updates), and will not come back up. I'm going to do a restart and see what it shows now.
I just wanted to report/document this in case it happens to someone else. Or if anyone has an explanation. ![]()

Checking back in after computer restart, to post current UVRT stats. Thanks for taking a look. I'm going to try watching a recording again to see if it makes it through this time. ![]()
