Try these two things. Exit out of the recorded programs then go back in and play the movie. If that doesn't work unplug the dvr for 30 seconds and reconnect it. Then try playing the movie and FF again.

Exiting it didn't work. I have unplugged and replugged, and am waiting for orange screen to go away. Thanks.

So, nothing worked. Chat & phone support were unable to help.
Does Comcast do something to their broadcasts to prevent us from being able to FF them?
It was a baseball game recorded on Comcast SportsNet Bay Area that I couldn't FF. This was the only recording with a problem.
Now, I recorded today's game, and same problem, although all other recordings work fine.
Never had this problem with Dish...

hmmm.... same thing happening here, and also on an MLB game. Recorded the Angels/Orioles game today on Fox Sports West HD, and it won't let me FF. I can FF the recording up until about the 50 second mark, then it freezes (I can still play the recording, but it freezes if I hit FF). 30 second skip also does not work past the 50 second mark. I tried starting another show (it FF'd fine) and have reset the DVR, to no avail. It must be some sort of fluke?

I've seen this before in various recordings, usually where there is some sort of pause, like a 1/4 second of black screen, or a non-moving graphic. Both seem to be common with sports programming from any provider.
It is a glitch in my case.
Usually, I can get around it by hitting play, let it play out for a few seconds or more, sometimes up to 30 seconds or so. I've also tried the 30 second fwd, then resume the FF, with occasional success.
It is irritating, yes. However, I've always been able to get around it using the above method.

Yeah, I had tried that too (to let it play for a few minutes, then try to fast forward), but it still doesn't fast forward. I'll record today's game and report back.

Same thing for me when I DVR SF giants game the last couple of days. Before I would occassionally hit a spot where the recording would freeze for a second then skip forward a couple of seconds. The last 3 days though I can't FF or skip forward. It's a pain in the butt, especially today, there was a 90 min rain delay and I can't FF to the beginning of the game. Don't know who to blame Comcast Sports or ATT?

The comon denominator so far seems to be with recordings of sports events. I wonder if those broadcasts are treated differently in some way?

Same as yesterday with today's Angels/Tigers game on FSWHD. I can fast forward to the 50-55 second mark, then can't fast forward or 30 second skip.
Could it be that there is a flag or something in the feed that the MLB is making AT&T or Fox Sports West put in there (or they are accidentally putting in there) to not allow fast forwarding? None of my other shows are having this issue.

I am having the same problem when trying to watch the Giants, on chan 1770. I have tried to reboot the DVR...didn't work so I tried rebooting the whole system, by unplugging the power from the main box. Still didn't work. I think it is something to do with Comcast...A.T. & T. should contact them to fix the problem. I don't have this problem with any other recording. This is the 2nd day that I have had the problem.

Well, I'm having the same problem on Fox Sports West, so I'm thinking that this might be a larger issue than just Comcast Sports.
I just spent the last hour and a half on the chat with tier 1 and tier 2 support, and, at the end of our conversation, they basically said that they would escalate it up to the "Network Operations Center" to see if it would get fixed. I asked if I'd get a call, and they said that if it gets fixed, it would just get fixed.

I've had the same problem as well for the last 3 nights. I cannot fast forward Dodger games on Fox Sports Prime Ticket HD. The FWD button only advances 1-2 seconds.
I haven't had any issues on any other recordings including golf on the Golf Channel.
Is AT&T disabling the fast forward feature for all MLB games?

That's the question. Has there been a change in policy from MLB (or AT&T) that doesn't allow FF for MLB games? I'm also not able to rewind (though it seems that I am able to do the "7 second skip back").
I haven't had any issues with any other recordings (before or after the recordings in question), including other recordings on Fox Sports West HD.

In my dealings with the chat support, they had me reset the modem and the DVR as well as unplug all set-top-boxes, to no avail.

Have had the same problem others have reported on HD recordings of Comcast Chicago games. Just to test things out I decided to record a game not in HD and did not experience the problems experienced when I recorded in HD.

Can everyone who is experiencing this problem please post the following:
1. What channel did you record? (Please state channel number and channel title). e.g. Fox Sports Houston, 1755
2. What program did you record? e.g. please state whether it was a baseball game, pre-game show, etc.
As of Friday night, I noticed several multicast IP addresss for many national channels have changed. So far, all people who have posted a channel where they have had this problem have been on one of the channels whose IP address has changed, leading me to believe this is a configuration issue in the national VHO.
The following channels have changed their multicast IP address:
| 1753 | FSDAHD | FSN Dallas HD |
| 1755 | FSHOHD | FSN Houston HD |
| 1756 | FSSAHD | FSN San Antonio HD |
| 1630 | NHFLHD | NFL Network HD |
| 1638 | NHLHD | NHL Network HD |
| 767 | CSC | Comcast SportsNet California |
| 762 | FSAZ | FSN Arizona |
| 737 | FSD | FSN Detroit |
| 720 | FSFL | FSN Florida |
| 748 | FSMW-S | FSN Midwest - St Louis |
| 744 | FSN | FSN North |
| 764 | FSNW | FSN Northwest |
| 732 | FSOHCI | FSN Ohio-Cincinnati |
| 734 | FSOHCL | FSN Ohio-Cleveland |
| 730 | FSP | FSN Pittsburgh |
| 772 | FSW | FSN West |
| 760 | FSRM | FSN Rocky Mountain |
| 724 | FSS | FSN South |
| 753 | FSSW-D | FSN Southwest - Dallas |
| 755 | FSSW-H | FSN Southwest - Houston |
| 756 | FSSW-S | FSN Southwest - San Antonio |
| 774 | FSPT | FSN Prime Ticket |
| 630 | NFLNet | NFL Network |
| 638 | NHL | NHL Network |
| 729 | SPTSO | SportSouth |
| 735 | STO | SportsTime Ohio |
| 722 | SUN | Sun Sports |
| 112 | TBS | TBS (Turner Broadcasting System) |
| 113 | TBS-W | TBS (Turner Broadcasting System)- West |
| 702 | YES | YES Network |
| 1735 | STO HD | Sportstime Ohio HD |
| 1112 | TBS HD | TBS HD |
| 640 | VERSUS | VERSUS |
| 1640 | VER HD | Versus HD |
| 1702 | YESHD |
YES HD |
The Fox sports channels and Comcast Bay Area/Comcast Sports California that are the HD equivalents of the SD channels have probably also changed, but I can't see those in my area.

Same problem for the last three days on Rays and Marlins games. Got tier 2 support and tech changed DVR Receiver - as expected same results today. SD broadcast fast forwards fine but HD will not in any way. Tech will report to higher levels. I wonder if Direct TV has same problem? Especially on the $138 option.

I'm getting the same thing past couple of days - I only seem to have it on MLB games (1722 - Sox Sports / SunRays in particular). Annoying - that was my favorite thing about my Uverse DVR lately... I record the game, and can FF through it later and get the whole game done in about 20 minutes - slowing down to normal speed for score changes...

1772 Fox Sports West HD - Angels games the last two nights (8/5 Angles/Orioles 4pm PDT and 8/6 Angles/Tigers 4pm PDT). Game only, didn't record the pre-show or post-show.
The thing is, this behavior isn't happening on other programming (including HD content) on the same channel, only MLB games.

that leads me to think that MLB is trying to keep us watching the commercials? kind of heavy-handed, big-brothery...

I doubt that it is on purpose, as others have said that the SD versions of the games are still working fine. I'd think if they are conciously doing this that the SD games would also be affected.
I'm guessing that there is some sort of flag in the feed that is disabling fast forward and rewind for MLB games, if such a thing exists - but I think (hope?) that it is accidental.
