Unfortunately my new DVR is increasingly freezing on more and more recorded shows. At first it did it on 3 back to back to back episodes of "The Unit". But now it is doing it more and more often. I called TS yesterday (Thursday) evening and after speaking to tier 1, 2, and special high intensity techs I was told I they would send out a new dvr. Now my family and I are scrambling to watch the recorded programs (that will play back) over the next day or so. The new dvr is supposed to arrive today and I have 10 days to return the current one. Hopefully we can get everthing watched that isn't on demand quickly and then I will install the new one.

RC, many of the first run cable (versus locals) channel programs run the previous week's episode before the new one, so you could check the Guide and note any you have now will be repeated in that manner.
Also Search brings up many repeat episodes on the cable channels at different times, that way you'd just have to watch any that won't have repeats in these manners. ![]()

My apologies for not being more clear on the title of this thread.
I got the new DVR yesterday, and I spent last night searching On Demand to see which shows are available. My plan is to spend today watching the shows that I have that aren't On Demand, and install the new DVR this evening.

How nice it would be to have at least a USB-to-USB copy function when getting a replacement DVR.

Thanks Robert. I have about 9 recordings left on the dvr but very few of them will play all the way through though. Yeah your right about the complaints from the industry ATT would get if we could transfer recorded programs to other drives, or mediums. I wonder if CC, DISH, and DTV have the same restriction? Not that it matters because I will still stick with Uverse.

I think the cisco isb7500 stb/dvr has a overheating problem which results in playback pixelation within one to three hours on a non dvr receiver (plain stb). By setting a laptop cooling fan pad under the stb/dvr, I have enjoyed zero pixelation on all 5 of my stb. This also means zero resetting of the dvr.

I new I should wait on a new (500gb) d.v.r. I'll watch your posts until this tech gets worked out. Knock on wood but my VIP1225 is flawless in all regards. 4 shows at once and no glitches except surround delay while ff or rw.
By the way... the Unit rocks! They always cancel the good ones. Our boy is on Last Resort as the ships master chief. Too bad the last eppisode just aired.

It was a drag that the show got cancelled. As far as I know everyone I talked to liked it so I wonder who they polled about that show. At least they did a "sort of" ending.

I agree. Even being a retired submariner and knowing how impossible the way the show played out, I actually enjoyed it. When they announced they were cancelling it I quite watching it though.

I am not a submariner but I pointed a lot of "this is a tv show" moments. I think the problem with tv programs like that is that they have too many twists. "LOST" was the first and last tv program that will get away with doing twist upon twist upon twist and any show that looks like it is going that way gets cancelled. I like tv shows that stay or at least try to stay ahead of the viewers. It would have been good to see who was actually the bad guys and who was ultimately behind what happened. Any way, another good one bites the dust.
