Only 1HD/3SD available

About a month ago I posted a question about not being able to record an HD program and watch another at the same time.  Uverse is new to this area for about two months now.  I also got some great info from this forum and  spoke to ATT tech support. 

The VRAD? is over 3000 ft away from my house and my understanding is that we will not have even 2HD until there is another VRAD installed closer to us.  Someone had mentioned a pair bonding installation.  But when I asked ATT about this they said that it was not an option and they gave me 3mos free of HBO (which I could care less about). 

During this time I have realized just how inconvenient it is not to have this basic capability.  Should I expect more from ATT?  I don't understand why the service was even opened up to our neighborhood.  I have since shared my experience with my neighbors.

If anyone has any ideas or info that can help I would appreciate it.  Otherwise, I'm not sure it's worth staying with ATT, even though I do enjoy other features.  I'll probably take my $250 gift cards and go back to Comcast.

Unfortunately, based on a 3000ft. loop length ALL of your U-verse services will be very limited!!

Pair-bonding or INID installs are rare, and IPDSLAM doesn't support TV nor' would help this issue!

Yes, their answer about another DSLAM being installed being your only resolution is basically all that can be done!

Horribly, the only way they build another one of these DSLAM's in a central location close to yours is if there was several requests, as per your neighbours, that are out of range for service... This happens rarely, but in some bigger neighbourhoods, happens alot faster then others because of this reason! Cheers

Thanks Enoz. 

I was afraid of that.  It's ashame, because I do like a lot of the other features.  We have recently started having other issues with the DVR unit freezing up in the middle of a broadcast on an HD channel.  When you switch to the SD channel it's fine.  I assume this is also related to the same issue??

That's tough, I'm lucky enough to be on top of the VRAD.  I don't even mind how it looks.  The service works great when in range.  

Hopefully, they can grow to more VRAD nodes and up the service levels for all.

I'm in a smiliar situation as you. I also have 1HD/3SD, having 3 HD tv's in the house and only able to watch hd on one at a time is annoying. My issue is a software upgrade that supposedly has not hit my area yet, everything else on my system setup is good to go for 2HD/2SD but until the software update hits I'm screwed.

At&t just keeps telling me when they think it will be available.

Good news for me! 

Just in the last few weeks I noticed that I was able to view and HD and record HD at same time!  Not sure what the change was from ATT but glad for the change.  I'm glad I decided to hold out for a bit and stay with ATT.

ATT has been adding 1 HD for each profile in the last few months to all FTTN users.

Edit: If your Ingress profile has 2 HD, you'd be able to record 2 HD programs while still watching a recorded program or SD channel.
