Can I start recording a program from a STB not just the DVR?
I can watch 4 live HD programs with the 32/5 profile but only record 3HD/1SD or can I record 3HD and watch another HD channel on another receiver?
Is my math correct for the uverse internet speed 5.7mbpsX4tvs=22.8mbps just from simultaneously watching 4 HD tv shows leaving 9.2mbps just for the internet on the 32/5 line profile?
Will their be more streams in the near future before 2013?

1. Yes
2. Yes. If you record 3 HD channels, you can watch a 4th HD channel on a TV connected to a non-DVR receiver.
3. Yes
4. Unknown. U-verse has not made any future plans public

You are assuming a constant max bandwidth utilization per channel; while that is a possibility, it is extremely unlikely.
The way the video protocol works, the full screen is painted (an "I" frame", then only the area(s) of the screen that change are updated (with "B" and "P" frames). This continues for a string of frames (the "Group of Pictures" - GOP) then starts again with another "I" frame.
SO, depending on the amount of changing content, the utilized bandwidth can very greatly, per stream, from near zero to the max available (~6 meg, Constrained Fidelity). Voice and video have priority over all "regular" Internet traffic.

Ya, you will find that TG and a couple of other members make the most and best contributions of information on here.
