I've spent several hours attempting to contact ATT Uverse regarding my innability to fast-forward past the commercials during recordings of Penguins of Madagascar. My children love the programming, but I do not want my kids to see advertisements for sugary cereals, jenky toys and Nick programming aimed at older kids featuring snippets of children behaving badly. Can someone please help me understand why my DVR's fast-forward doesn't work for only the Penguins of Madagascar? And, if you're experiencing something similar, please let me know. I'm blogging on this topic. Thanks.

That's interesting. I'm assuming these were recorded from NICK vs. being On Demand video?
I have seen fast forwarding not work on On Demand video before, but I'm trying to remember if I've ever had a recording have this problem. I' remember having some problems on what I'll call a corrputed recording, where I'd hit a bad spot and the picture would freeze and I couldn't move forward or backwards around it.

I've seen that bug. But this isn't a technical issue. I've tested this every which way. When I see this issue with previously-recorded first-run episodes from Nick, I'll stop the programming, flip to live tv and the FFWD functionality works just fine. Additionally, if I stop and go to another recorded program, the ffwd works just fine. Further, if I switch to a re-run of Penguins of Madagascar, ffwd works just fine. This is clearly a conditional suspension of the ffwd functionality specifically for this program for a period of time or views after the program has been recorded. I'm trying to find out if this is a broad application, or if I'm in a beta test, or if there is other programming -- specifically child's programming -- that is also designated for suspension of the FFWD functionality. I'm getting good tips from other consumers. Please publish to this thread, the existing thread on the Uverse FB page, or use hashtag #uversenoffwd4kids if you see other instances. Thanks
