Who wants THDVR?

The tech that visited our house this past Sunday (STL area) said that he had just been breifed and that WHDVR would not be activated until the beginning of '09.  He also said that they have the software ready to allow the USB ports to support external harddrives and DVD burners, but that they haven't done the testing yet.

If AT&T was being fair, they would roll out WHDVR/THDVR to each of us in the order that we signed up for Uverse.

I am currently evaluating UVerse TV as a replacement for my DiskNetwork. The two disadvantages I see to Uverse is

1. No Whole House DVR (With disk I can only record two channels but can watch them on any TV)

2.) No Nasa Channel.

So I say definitly bring on Whole House DVR capabilities. I just hope they do not charge more for the service.

The whdvr is something we are all anxiously waiting for it could rollout at anytime.  You can also record up to 4 channels at the same time with the UV dvr.  But then the only channels that can be viewed are the ones that are recording.  Small price to pay IMHO.  As far as the NASA channel many have requested it and AT&T could be in quiet negotiations to add that channel to its line up.  They don't announce when they are negotiating the launch of a new channel because people would want to knpow when.  And when dates are given and missed the subscribers feel cheated, so ATT won't and don't announce when they are looking or planning to launch new channels all of the time.  A lot of the time they just show up.

Just reading the first page of info; I've been noticing that U-verse workers are all over the place around here (Austin). Circling the blocks everyday all up in the VRAD in my neighborhood.

They are working very hard to get the services launched in as many areas as they can, as fast as they can.  Once they got all of the fiber laid it shouldn't take too long.  I got my service installed and then they ran the fiber about 3 or 4 months later, so they ended up running more cables to my house.

Yep jsut last week they had 3 trucks out at our VRAD and had 4 different techs working for 4 days straight

About a month or so ago.

THDVR was one of the options in the survey that some of us took a couple of montha ago.  Total Home DVR sounded better than Whole Home DVR.  I forgot what the 3rd choice was.
