Who wants THDVR?

True this hurricane did damage a lot of things .. I'm one of the lucky ones that had power restored 2days after the storm blew thru so everything is normal for me so I forget sometimes that there are people out there still struggling. All we can do is get thru another day and hope for the best.

Hmmm looks like houston is getting passed by for the thdvr. I guess because we had the hurricane and  it would make no sense to push it out to some and then come back later for those people still without power, phones, water, etc etc...

Yeah I noticed that. We were supposed to get it before austin but i guess we got pushed a little back due to the hurricane. I myself got the phone call saying my thdvr was working on friday(9/26) but when I woke up today I finally got it.....Next San Antonio ; Milwaukee. I myself am not a big dvr person but the little lady is and now I can watch my movies on my 50' and she can watch her recordings in the 20' heh.

I'm in Kokomo, IN. and have had U-verse for over a year now. I was told by a tech who was hooking up someone on my street in June that we would have THDVR by late July, but we are still waiting. Now no one at U-verse will even give a time frame when it will be here.

I guess I just don't understand why it's taking so long to roll this out. I  had Dish Network for many years and when a new firmware came out it was downloaded to everyone at one time. Are they using different ver. boxes on newer installs then were used over a year ago or is there some other reason for the very very long roll out. California did not even have U-verse a year ago but they were one of the first to get THDVR and in Texas where they were some of the first to get U-verse they just got TH. I have a lot of friends who would like to get U-verse but are waiting for THDVR because right now they have Comcast and more then one dvr and don't want to give that up until they know they will be able to record on more than one TV with U-verse.

Hang in there the thdvr upgrade is rolling out all over the country.  I heard sometime last year they did an upgrade to everyone all at once and the system couldn't take it and services went out.  Now they do it regionally.  They could probably do this one to all of their subscribers all at once but it seems like they are taking precautions and rolling it out this way.  You could go to bed tonight and wake up withit tomorrow.

I wonder if that will cause the price of Uverse to go up for new subscribers.  This is a major feature of UV that is not being offered by any of the larger service providers.  It may make people who are considering getting Uverse decide to jump ship.   That is if their contracts have expired or theyh don't mind paying the early disconnect penalties.

It's good to have thdvr not that I myself use it because I don't but my other half does and that is good for me because I can watch my 50incher and watch what I want. I'm sure there are a lot of people waiting till they can do the other functions that are to come in the future. Those other functions are what are stopping people from switching. I know that as soon as uverse was available I signed up because charter comm prices were outrageous and I didn't even have half the channels I have now. What I do know that this thdvr is rolling out very fast. Faster than the scheduled dates.

Chrisc151 I would say that Indy would be getting it oh what the heck I'll go out on a limb and say sometime like Oct 18-25th.. Everyone that has gotten it has got it at least 2 weeks before their date. It's coming that for sure and it's coming fast........
