This is the same thing all companies do, they are under no requirement to lower your price. You as the consumer must always be aware of pricing and take mesures necessary to get the lower priced product. It was listed in 2/10 Uguide as $55 for 18M internet. ![]()

I went through this too with the 12 meg speed. I had a couple of reps argue with me that it was the right price. I finally handed the phone to my husband (the bill is in both our names, but he seems to get better results than I do - go figure), who got it taken care of. According to what I see on the bill, it's billed at the higher price, then a $10 ongoing promo/discount is added to bring the price down.
I'm sorry to say, but you're going to have to call. There is no other way around it.

What others have done is call and downgrade to next lower tier, then next day, call and get the lower price on original higher tier w/no discount they can screw you out of later. Others on lower tiers have just called and upgraded to next higher tier for same or about same price and no discount needed either. ![]()

I tried that. Most of the time they want to get me to upgrade to the next highest tier. Since we've tried the 18 meg and didn't see any noticeable difference, not to mention we couldn't get past 14meg on the speedtest, it wasn't worth it.
The thing I notice with AT&T is that it takes sometimes a half dozen calls just to get someone who knows what we're talking about and can try to help us. If it wasn't for the fact my husband was happy with the service, I'd bee looking elsewhere.

Depends on how far you're from the VRAD, but yeah, my Max Turbo is blazing and amazing...good luck...

I had a similar problem that I had to discover. I was paying $55 for Max 12 when it was $55 for Max plus (18). The level1 guy I got upgraded me to Max Plus and gave me $10 off for 6 months and put me through to billing. They gave me a $10 credit so the prices had changed one month before. This had all taken place about a month ago.

The VRAD is right outside our townhouse building and we're two "houses" away (so less than 100 feet between our doorstep and the VRAD), so unless there's an issue with the line itself (nothing was ever found despite having three techs come out), the service just isn't that fast.
