"rates for the U-verse U100 and U-family TV packages will increase by $5, from $49 to $54 per month. The U200, U300 and U400 tiers will each go up by $3, to $67, $82 and $112 per month respectively."

This really gets more and more confusing!!
The note on my most recent paper bill stated that the U400, (which is what still shows on my bill), would be $5 per month. The article from Multichannel shows $3.
Also, no mention of my internet service going up at all, but, then again, the article states, the 3 lowest tiers of HSI, would be going up by $5/month, but that would only be for new subs.
Again, no mention of my HSI going up, just the TV portion.
Guess I will have to wait till after Feb 1st to see what is actually happening.

Elite internet in Florida is already $43/month. I'm hoping it goes "up" to $40. ![]()

Pip, when my yearly promotion ran out a couple months ago I upgraded from U400+HD to U450. Exact same thing/same price since U450 has the $10 HD fee included. Retentions gave me $10 off for 6 months for upgrading. They also threw in a one time credit of $30 for HSI since I'm such a whiner. Every little bit helps but know you need to watch your grandfathered clause too. Have been told upgrades do not affect this and some have entered in their changes online to check beforehand.
According to a reliable inside source here all the lower end HSI tiers will be going up by $5.
Like you said it's confusing and may have to wait until Feb to see what really happens.

Southeast regions will not be raising prices on Express, Pro or Elite HSI but the prices of Max, Max Plus and Max Turbo HSI will still go down by $10 so you can upgrade from Elite to Max for $2 on 02/01/2010.

Yes Uni, I read that thread, but that person offered no website showing where it stated that, and and this website (Multichannel) says it differently. Read the article from the original poster in thios thread, and you will see what I mean.
I also heard that this info was actually on on AT&T's website, but where?????

Pip, some good points and maybe U400 is only going up by $3 and choco 1122 is wrong about the $5 increase.
Prior to my last post I went into the OP's Multichannel link:
http://www.multichannel.com/article/441342-Updated
If you click on According to AT&T's Website in the link this is listed at the bottom of the page:
*Standard retail pricing on 02/01/10 will be: U-Basic- $19/mo., U-family-$54/mo., U-100-$54/mo., U200-$67/mo., U200 Latino-$77/mo., U300-$82/mo., U450-$112/mo.
All of the prices are $3 more than the current prices in the boxes except for U-100 and U-family TV which is going up $5.
Really wondered if this was the official AT&T website since no info at the top of the link page. Checked the URL and it is.
Of course they seem to ignore U400 since it is no longer offered. If your bill is correct and it is going up by $5 per month, and U450 is going up by only $3 per month, maybe they are trying to force U400 users to upgrade to U450?
This seems kind of far fetched but guess you never know what they are going to do.
Would hope that your future increase written on your bill is wrong and your increase will only be $3. Guess we will only know when the Feb billing cycle comes around. ![]()

Tell ya what Uni...that *reliable source* you mentioned....where does the info come from? ![]()
Anyway, that Multichannel article said the increase of HSI was for new subs and once again, is that true? I'd like to think it was, but haven't seen anything from AT&T itself indicatingthat would be the case.
Like with most AT&T things, we will just have to wait and see.

Pip, believe it is handed to them to put in their script notebook. And as we've all seen everytime you call CS you receive different info according to who you are talking to. Just my opinion.
Agree, we'll have to wait until the day before groundhog day to see what comes out of the hole.

On this one I know what I am talking about. You can question my sources all you want, but trust me you will see your bill going up by $5 with the U400. But you made a good point, they are probably trying to get people to get the U450 and getting rid of the U400 all together.

Not questioning your sources as far as how much the U400 is going up, as I said in my 1st post that that was in my current bill.
I question whether or not the HSI was going up, since we have all heard or seen too many different things that were said about the internet portion.
Nothing was mentioned about my HSI going up in the current bill.

Yeah... Its enticing to upgrade your internet speed if you are still at the range of Express to Elite. Max speeds' prices are going down, whereas lower speed tiers are going up.
I hope they will offer something interesting on the TV part.

So, if we have U450, no price increase? Or if you have U400 w/HD before it was called U450, no increase?
And I should go up to Max from Pro Elite for $2 more?
Wow, I've been in a cave.

Look at the * next to each price. The 2/10/10 prices increases are shown. But, nothing about any price decreases. Somehow, I'm doubtful there will be any price decreases at any tier.
http://www.att.com/u-verse/shop/fragments/iptv.jsp
And, note that U450 is going up by $3.

I would feel better about this, as we all would, if ATT would just make a post in the Announcements Thread regarding these changes. Do they enjoy all of the chatter?
Come on ATT!! Just release the new rates!! Enough!

My latest bill, 12/07/09-01/06/10 had no notification of increases. Just that Max 18 will now be know as MaxPlus.
But my sign up anniversary will be in April. I think "my" increases will begin after my sign up special expires. I receive $19 off total bill for 12 months. When the 12 months expire, look out. I loose my $19 discount, add $3 for U450, add $5 for Elite. Yeah the $19 had to go, that part was figured in. I would really like to see the price decrease in Max products. But no breath holding here.
I realize that there are a million different promo packages out there but I would like to see a base rate for all services effective Feb.. I can only surmise that since I cannot find anywhere on ATTs pricing charts there will be no price decrease on HSI.

I agree. Not likely to see any "prices decreases" on the upper internet speed tiers, as has been posted all over this thread. Seems like that would be something ATT would want to publicize.
Instead, they are publicizing future price increases at the lower tiers. Not something that would attract customers, but hey, at least they are being up-front and honest.

I don't think it is possible for your rate to have gone up that much if you have just a basic triple pack with no extra programming. The most any package went up by is $13 unless you have international programming or something. The U-verse Voice Unlimited plan is $30 regularly. By your calculations that means you are only paying $9 for your U-verse phone... Impossible. Lol.
