In the last week of December, 2011, I called U-verse about cable and internet service. I was told by the rep that I would have to pay $449 just to get the exclusive right to then pay installation and setup for the exclusive right to get to watch the almighty U-verse cable TV. I told her no way, she then said, "Well, all you have to do is set up the internet service, call back, then you can add the cable service without the huge deposit because you would already be an existing customer." Sounded reasonable to me, so I paid $100 for the modem and setup the internet. Needless to say, I called to add the cable service, to which everyone I spoke to said, yeah, we don't do that, you still have to pay the $449 deposit. So, five days after subscribing on the basis of a lie, I cancelled. Now, in late January, almost A FULL MONTH after I cancelled, U-verse automatically withdrew 70 something dollars from my checking account, why 70 something dollars I have no clue as I had subscribed to 24.99 a month internet. Now here we are, late March, I have literally called that train wreck of an abortion that is the AT&T phone system, I have been lied to by at least 20 different people. I am EVERY time told, oh yeah, your money SHOULD be there any time, just keep waiting, I am told that AT&T, the second largest communications giant in the world has neither a regional level manager NOR does it's corporate office have a telephone!!!! I swear to God, they tell me EVERY time that their corporate office DOES NOT have a phone!!!! I work for a tiny little company that only has 7 stores in the nation, we have both a Regional Manager AND a corporate office WITH A WORKING PHONE!!!! The goal is clear, the actual people in charge very clearly make these disgusting, rude cronies to tell everyone that the buck stops with them, or the wonderful quote unquote managers that they put you on hold for tens of minutes, just to get more rudeness with absolutely NO resolution. I WILL GET MY MONEY BACK ONE WAY OR ANOTHER YOU DISPICABLE, LYING POOR EXCUSES FOR PEOPLE!!!!! To anyone out there thinking of joining U-verse, DON'T DO IT, they lie and lie and lie some more, then, if you cancel, they just refuse to give you your money back, and just make you run the never ending phone gauntlet, knowing that eventually you will just get frustrated and give up......Well, not this guy.....

Try contacting Alex, one of the AT&T Community Managers for further assistance. He should be able to get this issue resolved.

For all of you disgusted customers that actually think something will get resolved by messaging Alex, or any of these other "managers", it's a waste of time. I aired my displeasure over the message board two days ago, letting everyone know what a bunch of liars and crooks U-verse is, to which I was given the standard reply, to message this Alex guy, and that I should be able to get my issues resolved. HA! Just another bunch of lies folks, I messaged Alex, got one of Alex's "associates" that acted like they gave a care, got my name, phone #, and account #, then assured me that I would be hearing from someone soon to address this because, in a quote from the message, "things shouldn't have been handled that way". Bigger HA!!! It's been two days now, and, as usual, no call, no email, no text, no NOTHING. I can imagine that they are tirelessly looking in to all of the complaints they get, aka. deleting all of the complaints so they can get a new batch of them and ignore them too. I urge you all to continue to post your complaints, but you might as well not bother taking it any further than that, as they could not possibly care less.

Responses typical occur within 24 - 48 hours. It's been less that 48 hours since you provided your information to Jam.

Um, ok, in 29 minutes, it will be OVER 48 hours, so are you saying I will be contacted within the next half hour? Give me a break dude, I know I'm not going to hear back from anyone, so please do me the courtesy of not patronizing me with a scripted response. I have been promised verbally by your "managers" on seven different occasions that I would definitely get a call back, and just like this online forum, it's obviously another way to try and pacify me without actually resolving anything.

Kevin called you in the late morning on 3/20, shortly after I escalated your concerns. He left a voicemail with his name and contact information and requested you call him when you're free.
I will let him know you didn't receive his voicemail and ask him to call you again. You didn't specify a time you prefer to be called. Is there a better time during the day to reach you?

Texasguy is not patronizing you nor is he and AT&T employee. If you have been promised by Alex or someone from his team that you will be contacted then you will be contacted. These forums are comprised of UVerse users and a few community managers who are AT&T employess. We (the users) point you in the right direction to get help, such as sending a PM to Alex or Jam or another community manager since we (the users) do not have access to yours or anyone elses account information.

Ma'am, my cell phone is on my person at all times, I received NO call and certainly got NO voicemail. I check my voicemails hourly, just more misinformation. I can gladly provide you with a detailed call register directly from my phone, I have received no calls, gotten no emails, nor was ANY voicemail left on my phone.

I got the email, thank you. In the email he asked for my name, account #, and phone #. Candidly wondering if he called and left a voicemail yesterday, why would he be asking for my number..... I'm sorry Jam, I really am, I am just so tired of spinning my wheels and getting nowhere. I will stop with the messaging and have faith that someone will call me and get this behind me so we can go our seperate ways. Thank you for your help, have a great day.

Since there was a problem reaching you, he wants to make sure we have your information correctly documented. I asked him to verify with you as well in case you saw his email before my private message.
Kevin and I are both here to help and we do care. I hope we can all work together to get this taken care of for you.

Why are you complaining to us. We are just users like you and to be honest I do not care about your problem. You need to take all this up with AT&T. Remember you were the one who gave them your banking information. I never give anyone my banking information. I always use a credit card and that way I have more protection against fraud. AT&T is a large company and I do not think they are trying to cheat you. Anyways that has nothing to do with me or any other sub.

dinglesby,
I am not complaining to YOU. I am using this forum for what it is, a way to express my feelings about AT&T. I am quickly noticing that when people have been so mistreated and given the run around, and they post their frustrations on these message boards, people like you jump on them and tell them about how they don't want to hear it. Thanks for the brilliant advice to take it up with AT&T, something I have been doing since December. I never gave AT&T my banking information, I only paid my deposit with my Visa, so way to jump to conclusions. AT&T is a large company, which seems to be the very foundation of the problem, they are SO big, that their customer service is a joke. I know you don't care about my problem, as I care nothing about you or anything to do with you, I am simply expressing my experiences with AT&T. I don't need anyone else jumping in telling me to keep my opinions to myself, as long as this is a open forum, I will post WHATEVER I WANT, WHENEVER I WANT. If that is not ok with you, feel free not to read it, and certainly feel free to mind you own business. Thanks so much!!! Have a great day!!!!
