I've been using AT&T internet for about two years now. I only have internet and refuse to do any bundles with them. Back in March I was moving to another apartment and called them to have my service switched over to the new place. They didn't offer the same speed they did at my other apartment so they said they would send me the modem and that I would get a $100 rebate card in the mail to pay for it (which I never got and had to request them to send later).
The person who set up the new account said that I would be billed $43 for the first two months and that afterwards my bill would go down to 19.95 and I would have a credit for the difference on my account. They also told me that there would be no charge for having the service moved. I get my first bill which is $170!! What the heck? 100 was for the modem (which they never sent the rebate card) then there was a $40 fee for moving the service (which they told me I would NOT have) and then my bill.
After fighting tooth and nail for three months now I finally get a regular bill and it's at 29.95! I called again and asked why is it that I have to call every month to sort this out, and the rep told me, "This is what your bill is supposed to be. That rate (19.95) is only availiable for people who have bundled their home phone as well as internet. Without the bundle it's 29.95." Are you kidding me? I KNOW the first person who swtiched my service said I would be billed 19.95. Otherwise I wouldn't have gotten the freaking internet with them. And now I'm apparently stuck in a contract when they lied about the price! This company is the biggest set of crooks I know and I will never do any kind of business with them again or recommend them to anyone! UGH!
