Attentiion U-Verse customers: AT&T will bill you for a full month after your service has been disconnected. I had my service disconnected due to a move. Where I live has no AT&T support. The disconnect date was July 3rd. My billing cycle started June 28th. I have retured the equipment and contacted AT&T to make sure I would not be billed a full month. Yesterday AT&T debited my account for the full month. I have spent all morning on the phone with customer service, accountin and collections. They have told me that it is their fault, however they will mail me a check in 4 -6 weeks for what they owe. AT&T pulled the money from my account but cannot put the money back. I find this hard to beleive. AT&T is stealing from it's customers. I will never use this company or recommmend them to any one.
Very disappointed.

What details are on the bill that was debited from your account yesterday? Normally, invoices are due approximately 25 days after the end of the billing cycle. If you are on auto pay, that is the date that the payment would be drafted from your checking account.
If your last billing cycled ended on June 27th, that would mean that the bill covered services through July 27th. That bill was generated prior to when you canceled service on July 3rd. Was the amount debited from your account the amount of the last bill that you received from U-verse? I remember when I canceled Dish prior to switching to U-verse, I received a refund check from Dish because I had paid them for an advanced period.

I'm sorry you were incorrectly billed when you cancelled your services.
It sounds like you got started on getting this resolved but 4-6 weeks is an awfully long time. Will you please send me a private message with your name, account number, phone number and the best time to contact you? Let's see if we can get this taken care of a little more quickly.
To send a private message, you can either click on the link in this message or click on the little blue envelope in the upper right hand corner, click "compose new message" and type my username in the "Send To" field.
As of May 1st, I am no longer serving as the Community Manager for AT&T. This account will no longer be able to accept private messages. If you have an account related issue, please send a private message to ATTCustomerCare.
