I canceled AT&T U-verse back in February because the service was unstable, unreliable and di not preform as promised. At the time I verified that no other fees would be billed. I then get my March statement and AT&T had tacked on Termination fees. So I called customer service, everyone politly told me I was speaking to the wrong customer service department and just as politly transfered me to the "Correct" department. After be politly tranfered numerois times, I final spoke to a representive who said she could help. She stated that there was not a contract, that based on the log AT&T we did have service issues with performance and the termination fee would be canceled.
Next month, I get a notice stating we have an amount overdue. That the termination fee was not paid. So I called customer service again, again everyone politly told me I was speaking to the wrong customer service department and just as politly transfered me to the "Correct" department. After be politly tranfered numerois times, I final spoke to a representive who said he could help. He stated that there was not a contract, that based on the log AT&T we did have service issues with performance and the termination fee would be canceled.
Next month, I get a notice stating we have an amount overdue. That the termination fee was not paid. So I called customer service again, this time is was closed. Given that in the last 6+ times I have spoken with AT&T I have NEVER been transfered less than 5 times, I expect that I will have to waste an hour or so of my day fixing AT&T's communication problems.
I have noticed that AT&T support monitors this forum and will help on problems like this. I hope that one of them can get this issue resolved. If not, my next step will be to file a formal complaint under FDCPA.

Send a PM to Alex who is an AT&T Community Manager on this forum.
Also, check the settings on your account to make sure that you will receive email notification when a PM is received on this forum.
By the way, based on the information stated in your message, I don't see that any provision of the Fair Debt Collection Practicies Act (FDCPA) has been violated.
