So I signed up for Uverse about a month ago, and I agreed to pay the fee for equipment ofcourse. But from the moment the agreement was made it's been nothing but trouble. I got an arrival and activation date and everything came when It was supposed to. I was told that as long as I have a working phone jack, and followed instructions everything would be fine, but it wasn't working, so I called the support people and they checked the connection and they said the modem was defective and I would have to wait 5 or 6 days for the new one. I'm like uhmm ok? but whatever. The new one doesn't work either, for unknown reasons so they send support out here and tell me that I probably won't be billed unless its a problem on my end, and even if I am I'll have to sign off on it. So The guy comes and puts something in the phone jack and takes it out and tells me he's not billing me because ATT misled me into believing that it would work just because I have a working phone jack.
Btw I still have the extra modem packed in a box ready to go back but I can't get anybody to give me a return address, and I'm thinking that I'm gona be charged for it but I don't know what to do with it.
I log on here today, The first problem is I'm being charged twice for "gateway" which I'm assuming is the modem, which I think Shouldnt be a problem because If I get an address I can send it back. Then It says I'm getting charged twice for support, the guy who said I wasn't being charged for the support that I would have to sign off for. Twice. I'm 18 and and I doubted signing a contract in the first place, and now I realize nothing is as straight forward as it seems.
I'll probably end up cancelling the entire thing and deal with the termination fee because at least I know that won't change on me.
