I just spent an hour on the phone with AT&T, and it's the same problem. Spoke to an agent for 10 mins, he transferred me out, was on hold for another 10 mins, finally spoke to an agent named Russell who then I asked to speak to a supervisor named Don, and nothing was settled.
Same story as you guys! I was an existing ATT DSL customer and transferred to a new address. The new place cannot receive DSL, so the ATT manager told me to upgrade to U-verse system, and it would be at the same price of $14.95 promo. Told me that the $14.95 promo is valid for a whole year, but the discount will only show in 3 months. The service started in Mar 2012. The bill came for the first month, and the deductions were not there. I called in, and they made the changes so I paid $14.95
April 2012 bill came - Same thing. I had to call in and they made the changes to $14.95
May 2012 bill came - Were out of town and forgot to pay the bill, but was charged $24.95
June 2012 bill came - And that's what happened today. This long extended conversation where the agent Don told me " Someone in a separate department promised you the $14.95 that but we decide to kick that out. So, you don't have the $14.95 promo anymore, and must pay $24.95.
I asked " Does that mean that ATT will not honor what your manager said? " He answered " No - because I was not the one that agreed on giving you the $14.95, and it was a separate department that you spoke to . So, I'm the billing supervisor and I will not give you the price.
What is this?? So, ATT tricks you into signing up with them, and then changed the pricing on you.
Same problem as the rest of you guys. How can we deal with this???? Please help!
